The boy thought about the question for quite some time. "It's not really the studying part I enjoy. I just like knowing things. I want to know everything. Academia... it comes so easily to me and I've always learned things quickly. I don't... remember learning to read, but I've been able to read for a long time. When I started kindergarten, I could already read and write. Most children in preschool read baby books, and I was already reading chapter books. I like languages, and the way they flow. When I learned french, I was told that I could fool native speakers. Mello started to teach me Russian, and was surprised at how fast I picked up on it." He paused. "Other than that, I like to make things." He said quietly, as if he shouldn't be proud of that. "I like to make large things out of small things... I-It sounds childish, and I know that it is, since I still play with children's toys. I can make ten foot high cities out of dominoes and cards. I can fix any toy, no matter how badly it breaks..."

Gevanni couldn't help but laugh. "That's adorable. And amazing, too. I couldn't make ten foot high cities even when I was a kid. The blocks always fell." He commented, taking a bite and chewing slowly. "How do you manage?"

Near wasn't sure what Gevanni meant. "How do I manage what? Making them so tall or keeping them from falling?" A lot of people had asked him that question, including his father and his step brother. But he honestly didn't know. Near was patient, he moved slowly, and he was observant. Near just knew what to do when, but he didn't know why. "I-I just... do. I've never been able to explain it. I can show you, maybe, at some point. If you want to see what I do?"

Gevanni nodded, "I'd love to! Perhaps one night when you come over for dinner, you can show me?" He offered, smiling. The road outside wasn't busy, so they were pretty much alone. It was like the world had dissapeared. Just them.

That made the boy smile. He nodded. "Okay!" He wondered if Gevanni minded making him dinner, especially since Near was pretty useless. He wouldn't even be able to help him. But, Near liked Gevanni, so he would try at the very least. "Thank you.. for the donuts I mean." He said, picking up another one and munching on the raspberry one.

Gevanni chuckled, pikcing up a stawberry one, and nomming on it. "It's quite alright. I hate eating by myself anyway. It's always so lonely." He shrugged, "But I think that you'd enjoy a nice carbonera. I'll see about making one for you tomorrow, how does that sound?"

The whitenette looked up at him and smiled. "Okay. I can make sure that I can see with you tomorrow night. Do... you want me to walk to your house?" He asked, knowing that he had no idea where Gevanni lived. But near knew this entire area, it came from his habit of reading maps. He walked almost everywhere, so he wanted to know where he was. Near had never been particularly fond of cars, but all the same, he was willing to go there if he needed to. "I have my college class tomorrow, and I get out at four."

The brunette snorted, "Of course not! I don't live in a very nice area. Here, I will pick you up from school. Just tell me which college you go to, and I'll be there." He offered, smiling. the boy wasn't about to get hurt on his watch.

Near blinked, and then smiled. He wrote down the address on a piece of notebook paper and handed it to him. He had the feeling that Gevanni used a GPS to get around here since he hadn't been here that long. Still, he was glad that someone was willing to be with him. "Thank you. Where do you live anyway?"

"I live over on South boulevard. Near the fire station." He explained, shrugging. That neighborhood was rife with crack addicts and drug dealers. Needless to say, Matt lived there. He chuckled, "and thank you for the address."

Near stared at him. He walked around that area all the time. But, he had the feeling he shouldn't tell Gevanni that. "South Boulevard? I know exactly where that is. How close to the fire station to you live?" He asked. "152 is across from the fire station, and 145 is after it, heading north." He said, showing that not only was he familiar with the area, but he even knew the numbers of the houses and how they ran.

that... That was impressive. Massively so. "I life at 152." He murmured, tilting his head, "Why do you know all of the numbers there?" He asked, concerned and a little proud for the boy. He smiled, unable to keep from laughing.

Near blushed a little. "W-Well... Matt lives in that area. I walk home from there all the time. That and I have... a-a photographic memory." He said, smiling at Gevanni. His cheeks were slightly pink. "I can remember anything just by seeing it." He said, not sure how Gevanni would react to that.

Gevanni blinked, then decided to give him a bit of a test. putting a hand over Near's eyes, "What's the phone number for the bakery?" He asked, knowing it had been on the wall inside.

Near closed his eyes when his eyes were covered. "475-951-6172." Near said with ease. He could rememeber anything, and was more than willing to prove it to the officer that seemed to like him. No one had ever cared much for his memory. Both Matt and Mello were smart, and his father and step mother wasn't too interested. The only thing his step mother asked him for was where he keys were, and he had never been wrong.
