Frowning, she looked up at the alchemist, her eyebrows downset. "I don't know, Edward. I didn't see you for so long, how the hell am I supposed to know what you were wearing at that time? I'm not testing you, I'm asking you why it's on here. You'd do the same if you smelled cologne that wasn't yours on one of MY things." She stepped back when he made the next comment, about the customers. She flung at him, turning around and crossing her arms so he wasn't looking at her. "You're a jerk, Ed. You're such a JERK! You're the Fullmetal Alchemist, so many girls want YOU. I'm a mechanic, JUST A MECHANIC. All those men 'lining up' outside are here for AUTOMAIL. Not ME." She yelled, heading to the door. Gripping the handle, she bit her lip. "M-Maybe I should just go back to being your mechanic, I'd hate to 'Fuck' with you."
Ling glanced down at his plate. "Sorry." He muttered, picking up another spoonful of soup and eating it. "Sorry, I shouldn't really be deciding things for you. I just thought that...I don't know, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be thinking about marriage. I just don't really see myself with..." He stopped when the waiter came back, setting down more food. He took this as a signal to shut his mouth. "Anyway." He muttered, going back to eating his food. He shook his head. "No, you weren't out of line. Like I said, I was deciding stuff for you, I assumed you'd want to marry me but I just realized how stupid that was. I shouldn't assume anything." He smiled at her. "It's fine Ran Fan, we can just forget about it."

Edward pushed her. "Shut up! Just because I'm the fullmetal alchemist... fuck that! When have I ever wanted anyone else? Or showed interest. When we were in that house with the prostitutes, I ignored them! I could have had sex, somewhere else, away from you, NO strings attached! I didn't! I wanted to be with you. All I did was be around you. I ignored them, I insulted them, and I praised you and gave you endless affection and attention. All we did was kiss. I'm sorry! I don't know how to explain it! I haven't seen that shirt since I packed it, and I want to be with you. Winry... I.."
When he called her a jerk, his eyes narrowed and he got really angry at her. What the fuck?! Where did this come from, and what should he do? He'd never fought with her before, not like this... "Any why wouldn't they want you? You're sexy, strong, beautiful, smart, perfect... You're EVERYTHING I want, and.." His eyes narrowed, in anger, and confusion. What else could he say? What did she want to hear? That he like cross dressed or something? "Fuck with me?" He asked, taking it totally the wrong way. "What, so making out with me is fine, but this is just because you don't want to have sex?! Winry, I don't want sex! Not now... I have too many things to..."
Ran Fan's hand slid under the table and she grabbed his hand with her right hand, squeezing it hard. "Don't..." She whispered, not wanting the waitress to notice so she straightened up and remained still. The table was small so, so it didn't look strange, nor was it obvious she was holding his hand. When she walked away, she looked up at him, her eyes focused on his, staring into them in confusion. "I..." She whispered. "You're not really deciding anything for me Master, I just don't think that it's wise... You, choosing me..." She wasn't sure how to say what she wanted to. She wanted to be with him, but she couldn't be his guard as his empress, and so much was at stake if he wanted to be with her. She didn't want to risk his life, or his future at being emperor. She wanted him to love her, and only her. But that was unrealistic. Too unrealistic. "I don't mind... if you... you assume..."

She let the tears flow freely now, no longer caring if he saw. He thought this was about sex? What? "You...Y-You don't understand!" She said, rather loudly as she shook her head, a few tears flying off her face and hitting the ground just beside her feet. She wished she hadn't even brought it up. Why did she have to be so stupid? Why, why, why? Not only was this ending their relationship, but their friendship as well - the thing they based their romantic feelings off of, the thing that started all of it. Edward loved her, and she loved him. So why did she have to go and mess it all up? Even if he had been with another girl, he...he...UGH! She couldn't think, she just wanted to curl up. Swinging open the door, she left. Despite the fact that this was her bedroom and he should have been the one to leave.
She nearly ran down the stairs, pushing the door to the workroom open and entering, locking it behind her. Thank god Garfield and Al had left.
Ling sighed slightly, taking her hand underneath the table when she reached for his. He shook his head. "I know, I'm sorry." He shrugged. "If it's about people looking down on it, then you shouldn't worry. I don't care what people think ,why should you? They can't kill you, they can't do anything because I'm emperor and I won't allow if. If I wish to marry my guard then I can do that. It's nobody's business but ours." He said, smiling at her softly. HE loved her and he really couldn't picture himself with anyone else other than her. He wanted to marry her, he really did. She was beautiful, smart, strong, sweet - she was everything. She was amazing and Ling didn't feel like he needed to fill his world with other women who each carried bits and pieces of 'the one' if he found one with all the qualities he wanted.

"How do I not understand?!" Edward yelled, looking at her. Why was he fighting with her? Why did he want to punch the walls, and fight with her how he used to fight with Al when they were younger boys. Why did he wanted to fight? He could apologize, and grab her, hug her, and tell her he was sorry. That everything would be okay. That he didn't cheat and... that he wanted to be with her forever. That he wanted to marry her. This wasn't nothing to him. He couldn't picture himself with someone else. With an irritating fangirl whom was out for his title and nothing else. He picked her, and she picked him, long ago. Even his mother saw how much he cared for her. He had the feeling that Alphonse did too.
Suddenly, he felt calm, but then realized the room was silent, and she wasn't in it. He heard a door slam and he took a step forward, reaching out his arm. "Winry--" He called. There was a pause and he looked at the ground. He yelled out a strange wounded animal sound and punched a wall. "Fuuuck!"
Looking down at the table, she bit her lip uncertainly. Would it really be okay? Them being together? Maybe she was just over reacting and just thought that it wouldn't work out because it's what she'd been told. All of those in the lesser classes excepted their place at the bottom, and they didn't fight to change it. Was it to control them so they didn't attempt to do something else? "It's everyone's business because your the emperor, but I don't think we should talk about this outside." She whispered. The two of them had known one another for years, but despite the way their relationship had changed, it still wasn't what one would call sexual. She could barely kiss him, if anything else happened,, she might pass out or run off.

Garfield looked over at Alphonse, his eyes wide. "I don't think that went well..." He said, moving his ear from the wall. They had been in the room next door, listening the entire time. He knew the lipstick had been his and that it must have accidentally smudged when he was picking up the clothes. He felt guilty, but he couldn't come in and tell them it was his now, not when he'd said they were leaving. That would only piss them off even more knowing that he'd stayed back with Al to spy on them. "We're going to have to fix this now..."
"No, it's not. It's no one's business but MINE and YOURS. I don't care if I'm the emperor, my romantic life has NOTHING to do with the country, therefore the citizens of Xing should not worry who I am marrying and when I plan to marry. Just because I'm the emperor doesn't mean that my entire life becomes talk for everyone else.." He said, finishing his soup. What he had said was true. It didn't matter if he had 60 wives or 1, it had nothing to do with his involvement in the well being of Xing. He was helping give jobs to those who didn't have them, he was trying to bring automail from Amestris to Xing so that people who wanted their limbs back could have them. Why did it matter who he married?

Alphonse looked shocked. "W-wow... what just... happened?" He questioned, looking over at Garfield in confusion. "That didn't go well at all." He glanced over at the other male. It had to be his lipstick when he was taking all of his clothes. "Maybe... we should... move your lipstick around or..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "What should we do? How can we explain this without making brother angry?" He muttered, looking over at the male, uncertain. "How should we fix this? We need to force them together."
Ran Fan looked over her shoulder to make sure no one was listening. "I agree with you master, but not all things work out that way." She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "I don't want anyone else to be involved, but I like being your guard. I don't know how to be an empress. I know royal customs because I'm your guard. I know more than the average commoner, but I wasn't raised to be a wife and I never planned to be one. I have no desire to marry, to live the life of a wife, or a mother. I want to protect you... I don't want to have children, or to be a bride who is unable to do anything for themselves. I want to be with you, but at your side as your guard. Even if it's only as you guard, if I'm at your side, I'll be happy." She said, smiling at him.

Garfield leaned back against the wall. "I'm not sure, I didn't think this would happen. I thought they would argue about Edward thinking Winry was the one to take his clothing and then it would end with them kissing and doing well...things you probably shouldn't taint your young mind with just yet." He smoothed back his hair. "Do you have any idea on how we'll fix this?" He asked, peaking out the door, wondering if Edward was still in Winry's room. It had gone silent after he punched something - he assumed it was the wall and hoped that he hadn't punched a hole through it.
Ling sighed. "I know, that's why I shouldn't assume things. I honestly don't care if you don't know how to be a wife or that you don't want kids. I don't care for kids at this point and I only want to be with you. And being a wife does not mean you cannot do anything. You can be my guard and my wife at the same time, but as I said before, I'm not making you do anything. If you don't want to marry me, then we can just stay with our relationship the way it is now. I won't marry anyone else, I don't want to be with anyone else but you." He said, smiling at her, picking up a piece of chicken and eating it. "I just want you to be happy, and marriage doesn't mean much to me. I don't have to marry you to love you."

Edward slid down one of the walls and rested his head in his hands, completely lost at what he should do. He lowered his head and hid it in his arms, unsure of what he should do. Closing his eyes, he shook his head. "Fuck me..." He whispered, unsure if he should yell or cry.
Alphonse looked over at him. "I talked to my dad before he died about sex. I know about it... but nothing you know... specific." He rubbed the back of his head, playing with his hair which was all of a sudden REALLY interesting. Looking through the window, he bit his lip. "I'm not sure...? I know that brother is really stubborn and is an idiot when it comes to girls and has really tacky taste. Maybe we should try to make them into the same room. We could cut out power to the house? Or make them have to work together?"
Ran Fan actually smiled at him somewhat shyly, unsure of what she should say. The fact that he didn't push her into anything and didn't care what he wanted, he wanted her to be happy. "Thank you master." She whispered, blushing lightly. She slowly let go of his hand and went back to eating. Suddenly, she felt better about this. About them. He'd let her be his guard, even if so many people would be against it. He had never been one to follow norms, he spent time with his servants and respected them. He knew things about them despite the fact that they didn't disclose it easily. "I don't want to marry anyone else either." She whispered.

Garfield laughed. "That's probably a good thing then. As long as you know that babies don't come from storks, you're good. The rest, you'll figure out later on. Oh, I remember my first time...but we won't go there. It was with a completely different gender than the one you probably want." He shook his head and smiled. "That's a great idea! If only there was some way to reenact a thunderstorm. I've noticed that Winry becomes uncomfortable during them, I'm sure you already know that. As does Edward, I think he'd eventually want to comfort her." He rubbed his chin. "However, Rush Valley gets one or two thunderstorms yearly. I doubt we'll conveniently get one."
Ling smiled at her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze before he let it go. "I mean it.." He smiled before looking down at his plate, reaching for more food and shoveling it down. He was so hungry, but he was in a really good mood otherwise. Hearing that she didn't want tomarry anyone else made him happy. She loved him and only him and she was willing to stay with him even as just a guard. He wanted her with him, he didn't care if she was still his guard or his empress, she was still Ran Fan and still the woman that he loved and wanted to be with.

Alphonse nodded. Winry hated storms. "Well... umm, what if we just cut power to the house? If it's totally dark and stuff, then they might be worried. Brother won't light a fire in the house and he don't usually transmute buildings. Especially because well... it tends not to end well. It's worth a try, and if they have to work together, even if one of them gets a little hurt, it's okay. Brother is used to bleeding. I..." He seemed hurt by what he said "I don't like him being hurt, but if it's a relaly small injury, then it should work out, right?" He muttered to him. "Especially if Winry wanted to help. Or if we did something to break his automail leg?" he muttered, ashamed of himself for suggesting it.
Ran Fan smiled, blushing lightly. "I know you do, Master." Resting her hand on her legs, she continued to eat as more food was brought to them, as was another table to store. Another waitress removed the empty plates to make room for more dishes. Ling ate fast, and she did too, at least moderately so, so they could keep up with it being brought to them. The food here was amazing, and the guard hadn't had something this good in a long time. Since the party when Ling was announced emperor, and she barely had any because she was working and Ling had gotten attacked and they went back.

Garfield nodded. "Yeah. Okay, let's go cut the power off." He smiled. "This is costing me customers, but I feel like it's more important." He picked up a tool off the desk in the room and opened the window again. After he shut the power off, he made his way back into the room. It was completely dark and he couldn't help but laugh lightly. If this didn't work, he didn't know what would. Down the hall, he heard the door slide open. Edward must have been coming out to check what was going on.
Ling seemed to inhale the food, eating it as soon as it was brought out. All the food was amazing, almost better than the food they served at the palace. It was well prepared and he was surprised that this place wasn't crowded. It didn't matter, he was happy that it wasn't and that they were the only ones here. It made the moment more intimate and there wasn't anyone there to bother them. Smiling at her, he picked up one of the kabobs. "I almost don't want to go back to the palace." He said, laughing sightly.

Edward saw everything go dark. The sun had already set, and tonight was the new moon. It was total darkness, and his eyes weren't used to the lighting. "Fuck..." He muttered, standing up, stumbling over a box of automail parts in Winry's room, falling into the door, slamming his cheek. He groaned in pain and slid open the door. He grumbled curses, and put his hand on the wall, walking down the hallway. "W-Winry!" he called, not sure where he was going. He didn't know the entire layout yet. Especially with Garfield's crazy rearranging obsession.
Ran Fan smiled at him, laughing softly, showing him some emotion, which he loved to see grace her face. "We could always stay here for a little bit longer. In case you wanted to avoid your work. You've been working really hard lately, you deserve a little time for yourself." Reaching over the table, she moved his hand from his face again, even though she wasn't supposed to touch him. "Your bangs really hate your crown." She added, blushing lightly, realizing she touched him in public. "I miss seeing your bangs sometimes. After seventeen years of it, it's strange with them always pulled into your crown."

Winry widened her eyes when her tool suddenly shut off and the lights went off shortly afterward. Hearing something fall upstairs, she got up and rushed to the door, hearing Edward call her name. Despite that fact that they were angry at each other, she needed to make sure that he was okay. She felt for the stairs, running up them when she found them. She knew the layout of the house, so getting around wasn't that hard except that she occasionally nicked the corners with her foot. However, as she was making her way down the hallway to her room where she expected Edward to be, she ran headfirst into something. It was warm and breathing and she assumed it was Ed since he was the only other in the house. "E-Ed! I heard you shout, are you okay?"
Ling laughed. "That's what I think too! I worked hard enough, I deserve a break, right?" He smiled at her and picked up more food, scarfing it down. Shifting his eyes so they were looking up, he blinked. "Oh yeah, my bangs. I guess I didn't notice they were gone. I mean it was kind of uncomfortable at first but they're out of my face. I do kind of miss them, but I don't really care how I look." He said, taking off the crown. He unpinned his bangs, letting them fall over his face like they had been before. "How's this? Better?" He asked, leaning in toward her and smiling, giving her forehead a quick kiss before he retreated to his previous position.

Edward moved through the ouse when he heard movement. Running came up the stairs ad he moved towards the sound, only to collide with something, fall backwards, and land on his back, something soft and familiar on his chest. His hand instantly held her back as they fell, and he continued to hold her, almost protectively after they made contact with the ground. "I'm sorry..." He muttered. "Should have stayed still." he chuckled, and sat up slowly. "I'm fine, I just fell." He sighed and stood slowly, helping her stand, grabbing her shoulder and chest on accident, awkwardly fumbling in the dark as he helped her stand. "Sorry..." He whispered, letting her go. "Are you alright?"
"I learned to think like you after all this time, Master." She said, smiling at him sweetly. "I like them in your face, it makes you look natural, and relaxed." She added, looking away. When he started to mess with his hair, she turned towards him and her eyes widened. "W-wait, master, you don't--" Too late. It was off. She sighed and blushed when his hair fell. "You didn't have t--" When he kissed her, she blushed darkly and looked around. "I-I..." she looked around, panicked. No one was around and she blushed darkly. "Wh-why would you?" She blushed, looking down at the table, going back to eating. Leaning closer to him, she kissed him softly on the cheek. "I'm sorry I'm nervous, I just don't want to get you in trouble."

Winry made no attempt to move, staying between his legs, her head in the crook of his neck as she breathed in his scent. She realized what she was doing and sat up quickly, her cheeks turning red when he reached out to help her but only managed to grab her chest. She took his hand and pulled herself up, letting go of his hand even though she didn't want to. She nodded even though she knew he couldn't see it. "Yeah, I'm okay." She said, wrapping her arms around herself. "Um..I wonder how this happened..." Looking up to where she thought his face was, she spoke again. "Is there anything you could do to give us some light?"
Ling chuckled at her sudden nervousness. "It's fine, Ran Fan. It's just a crown and no one's here anyway. Besides, I don't have to wear it 24/7." He smiled at her and leaned over to move a piece of hair out of her face. "You know, you're really cute when you're nervous." He said, grinning. She was blushing and stuttering and it made him laugh. She liked him enough to become embarrassed around him, which made him smile. "And you won't get me trouble, it's fine. Really, I doubt the employees are going to tell on me because I took my crown off. I don't think they really care." He said, laughing slightly.
