Light seemed to light on fire, his eyes twitching with hatred. He wanted to rip his head off, but restrained, keeping his usually calm exterior. He couldn't do anything that revealed he had any of Kira's qualities. He shook his head. "You're a child, Ryuuzaki." He muttered, pretending not to care.
Scarlett let the strange yet familiar woman touch her face, not flinching. She too, wanted to see if she could feel the hand, to see if this woman was actually here and she wasn't hallucinating. "They never said anything..." She muttered, absentmindedly. "Why did they separate us?" She looked at the camera, stopping in the middle of the room and crossing her arms. "Are you sure this isn't a joke? My parents wouldn't lie to me, they would tell me about something like this!" Her silvery eyes glared into the camera like ice.
Light sighed. Women always did blow things out of proportion. "Can we please get back on track, We're NOT here to reunite lost families like Oprah." He sighed and propped his head onto his hand. "It seems that Kira was unable to kill the two of them because he/she was unable to match the correct face with the correct name, so it didn't work." He said, letting go of the button. "So I assume...they really don't have anything to do with Kira."

L looked at the two of them interact. "According to the adoption records, Kiera was adopted a little over a week before you where, so it's quite possible that your parents weren't aware that you even had a twin. As for why your parents didn't tell you Kiera, perhaps they only wanted one child."
Kiera watched her sister, and believed what she heard. How else could they have the same birthday? She was creeped out that he knew, but then a thought occurred. "If you took us because of Kira, and we're in Japan, that means that you're L, isn't it?" She questioned, looking at the camera, as if she could tell if he was lying.
L grinned. "Oprah?" he glanced at Light.Leaving the microphone on, he leaned over to another microphone. "Watari, would you please bring a television in here so Light and I could watch his favorite television personality?"
"And who might that be, Ryuuzaki?" came Watari's amused response.
"Oprah of course! oh, and remember the tea and cake. Light prefers coffee."
Watari chuckled. "Of course." Then the transmittion ended.
Glancing at the camera that Kiera was watching them on, he laughed. "No... Light apparently signs my checks, so that would make him L. Any lawsuits or complaints should be directed at him, but after he watches Oprah, that woman has some amazing stories." He seemed bemused, glancing at Light, who looked like he was about to punch him.
"I knew they didn't from the start. I just wanted to learn more about them. It interests me greatly that Kira failed so miserably. But, we can't just let them go. We should watch them for a time, make sure nothing unfortunate happens. I hate for Kira to get wind of this. Available information says there were NO survivors."

Scarlett watched the camera for a moment, unmoving. L? So they were in whatever head quarters L had set up for Kira research...Her thoughts shifted to her family. They were going to go berserk when they found out she wasn't coming home. "Excuse me." She said, waving her hands in the camera. "Excuse me but, I have to go home...Obviously I'm not Kira, she's not Kira," She held out a hand in Kiera's direction before she continued, "so you can let us go. And I'll have you know that I'm not paying for my plane ticket back home." She said.
She still couldn't believe this was happening. Turning her attention to the woman again, she sighed. "I wish we would have met under different circumstances...like in a mall or something, not...here." Biting her lip, she stared at her, still finding it strange how they were able to look so much alike. "Um..." She muttered, not knowing what to say.
Light glared. "That won't be necessary, please Watari, keep the television where it is. I didn't say I like Oprah, I said that we weren't Oprah." Running his hand through his hair again, he sighed. He was becoming very much annoyed with the god damn detective. No wonder this guy spent most of his days by himself, he was down right annoying. He couldn't wait to rid the world of L..."I don't see why we should keep them here. I doubt it matters to Kira where they are. If he's as powerful as people make him out to be, he'll access their records and kill them that way if he really wants them dead."

Kiera looked at Scarlett for a few moments, unsure of what to do. Her arms wrapped around her, and she hugged her. "I always wanted a sister." She said with a smile. "And because we're adults, we don't have to fight over stupid stuff. We can just hang out and get to know one another... We have to stay here, so... why not, right?" She asked. Maybe this wasn't ideal, but they found one another. "It's not the best meeting, but at least we found one another, right?"
L glanced at the two. "I'd like to keep you here a bit longer, mostly because well... I have the feeling that Kiera will want to clean up his mistakes. After all, 10,000 dead is much more impressive than 9,998." He looked over at the rest of the team. "Would you do me a favor?" he asked. "Matsuda, Ide will you do me a favor and go and get their things which I've had brought here? It should be in the lobby downstairs. Soichiro and Aizawa, would you please do me a favor as well? Please make sure things are all cleared up with why they are here. Kiera should be in Japan on business, but please go check with watari, if you would please."
The left the room, Matsuda complaining about having to carry bags up to the apartment they used for guests, or in this situation (as well as every other) those they had kidnapped.
There was a pause before L's back straightened and he turned to face Light, putting his face close to Light's. His back then hunched and he grinned, his thumb resting just below his bottom lip on the right side of his face. "If anything were to happen to these two woman, it would certainly prove to me that you were Kira." Turning back to the table, he picked up his cake and continued to eating. "Please escort them to the apartment upstairs Light." he requested.
Ryuuk's dry, raspy laugh came from behind Light. "Oh, seems he's threatening you again. What're you going to do now, Light?" he questioned.

Scarlett widened her eyes when the woman hugged her, but slowly responded by hugging her in return. She smiled. It felt as though she was hugging her reflection. "That's true..." She whispered. It almost felt like she was dreaming. Was this really happening? Did she fall asleep at the concert? "At least there was some good in this. I can't imagine what my parents will think when they found out I stumbled upon my twin.." She said, cocking her head to the side, her finger at her chin as she continued to examine Kiera.
Listening as L spoke again, she glanced up. "How long will I be here? I want to see my family. I am allowed to call home, right?"
Light turned his head to look at the older male, a smirk on his lips. "That won't happen, because I am not Kira. You're in denial, L." He said, standing up and picking up his jacket from the back of the chair. Walking toward the elevator, he smirked, ignoring Ryuuk until they entered the elevator. "I'm going to do what I've been doing. This changes nothing, Ryuuk." He muttered, moving his lips just barely so the camera didn't catch any movement.
He entered the holding cells, motioning for the two women to follow him. "I'm Light, I work with the task force. I'm going to escort you to your assigned rooms. Follow me."

Pressing the button on the microphone lazily, L replied. "Yes of course. The apartment you will soon be escorted up to will have a phone and anything else you may need. Relax if you need it. Everything will be taken care of by my staff."
L looked over at Light. "I'd assume the denial started on your end. Kira would never make a mistake as grave as this one, and we were together the entire time. This is much more the style, the sloppy mistakes, the ability for the CIA to respond to quickly. No. This isn't like Kira at all. it's not like the second Kira, isn't it?" He looked at the ceiling before adding some sugar cubes to his tea. "Too bad the second Kira isn't here at the moment. Who knows what would happen." As Light left the room, his eyes returned to the monitor in which both girls were in. After he saw Light enter the room, his eyes fixed on the two woman on the screen.
"Watari." he said, looking at the old man behind him. "I think it's time that we even the playing field a bit. You should return home for a short time to prepare things. You deserve a vacation. I know you miss your boys."
Looking up, the old man smiled. "You're too kind, Ryuuzaki. I will prepare immediately. Should I bring you anything in return?"
L slid out of his chair and walked over to the window. "Those little candied dice I love so much. Oh! And chocolate. They make for an interesting game."
Kiera smiled at her sister. "Guess this means we'll get to know one another really well, considering our incarceration here. That just means we'll get to catch up on everything we missed out on. You could be a model too." She teased with a small laugh. Another door opened and she looked skeptically at L. "You do have really nice hair." Her voice was honest, but came across as condescending. She didn't like pretty boys. Often times they made shitty boyfriends and didn't fair too well when it came to nocturnal activities or dating in general.

Scarlett laughed slightly. "I could never be a model. I don't really like cameras." She said, tucking her hands in her jacket pockets, following Light and Kiera out of the room. She gave a nod, her eyes examining Light's hair. "He does. My little sister loves High School Musical, he kind of looks like the main character." She said. She wasn't trying to make a joke, she was serious.
Light made a confused face, before he rolled his eyes. "Are you talking about that stupid Disney channel kid, Zac Efron? I don't look anything like him."
"So you've seen it?" She asked, glancing up.
Light ignored her comment, hitting the button that would take them to the apartment part of the building. "I have a younger sister too, you know.." He said, pausing to wait for the elevator to stop. Once the doors opened again, they were in a lobby. It looked just like any other apartment lobby, no hint of Kira investigation headquarters anywhere. He stepped out of the elevator and it shut, the wall completely covering the fact that there was an elevator even there. He walked over to another one, the one that only moved between the apartment floors. "Kiera, you will be in apartment 5D and Scarlett, you're in 4D. Here are your keys, but keep in mind that Ryuuzaki has copies of all of them so if you have anything to hide, I advise you don't hide it here."

Kiera smirked. "You'd be surprised. Most of the time you don't even see the cameras and there are so many there not always taking pictures of you. After a few months you learn to ignore them entirely. Unless you want to avoid them. America is the worst country for things like that. The media there stalks you like the plague." They walk to their room, the red headed model looked around, studying the environment they'd be confined to for quite some time.
When Scarlett mentioned high school musical, a bemused expression met her lips and spread across her features until her eyebrows raised. "I have to say, she has a point. You even have the hairline, the multitoned hair. That's something that you only see in gay men. My agents gay, so I understand. I call him my Sassy gay agent. I suppose it's true that all the good looking ones are gay." She sighed and took the keys from him. "Yes, I'll have to hide all of my secret methods of torture in my other sponsored home which I'm sure you and L would just do anything to allow me to live in." Glancing over her shoulder, she slid the key in the lock and opened it, looking inside, surprised to see all of her things already there. "Wow... you boys work fast. Thank you Light." She said with a sweet smile.

"No...it's not that. It's just that I don't like cameras, I never did like getting my photo taken. Besides, you're already a great model, there's no reason for me to try and do better, I'll only be making a fool of myself."
Scarlett laughed lightly, taking the key from him. "Thanks, Zac." She muttered, moving through the hallway toward her assigned room. "Oh and by the way, they're going to give me my bag back, right?" She asked, turning to look at him.
Light nodded, "Ah yeah, it's still downstairs I think, but you'll get it back later. It's pretty late now, I don't think you'll need it. The rooms have phones, if you need to call home or anything." He said, turning around to make his way back to the elevator. "And don't call me Zac, My name is Light." He muttered, slightly annoyed. "Anyway, goodnight..." He said, disappearing into the elevator.
Unlocking her room, Scarlett stepped in, flicking on the lights. The room seemed fairly nice. A living area, a kitchen, one bedroom, and one bathroom. It was enough for her. Sighing, she realized that she didn't have any other clothing here. At least she thought so. Glancing to the corner of the living room, she noticed a bag and her face twisted into confusion until she opened it, finding that her things had been packed neatly within it.

Kiera smiled, watching the interaction between the male officer who had interrogated them and her newly found sister. "Send my regards to Ryuuzaki, or L, or whatever." She said, smiling at him. "And I must say, ZAC, she added for emphasis. It's quite nice in here." Waving, she disappeared into her room and opened her bags, finding all her clothing. Yeah... like that wasn't creepy. Letting it go, she started to put her clothes in the dressers in the bedroom and opted for a shower, despite the fact there was most likely a camera in the bathroom because these guys were freaks. After that, she redressed and decided to sleep. The past day or so had been hell. She needed to rest.
L had given the two the courtesy of removing the camera's from the bathroom, but there was one outside the door to serve as timer of how long they were in there. They deserved some form of privacy. Especially because they weren't Kira. However, should Light enter the room or learn of this, he'd change his mind. He was watching the camera's in Scarlett's room for over two hours before he realized that she wasn't sleeping. She was just tossing and turning and then began pacing.
Shifting from his chair, he looked over at the chair in which Watari was usually seated, even opening his mouth as if to say; 'I'll return soon.' After remembering that his father figure had left however, he shrugged it off. It was strange being without the older gentleman. Light had already left for the night, along with the rest of the task force. Going downstairs, L inserted his master key into the lock of Scarlett's room and went inside. He went inside slowly, seeing her standing not far from the door staring at him. "I noticed you were unable to sleep and thought that rather than both of us being awake and bored, we could provide at least some distraction. Would you like to come with me to see the investigation headquarters? I could also return your things which had been taken earlier."

"Yeah, yeah." Light muttered, waving his hands in the air before he left. He had a feeling this new addition to their team was only going to end with him being the butt of every joke...
Scarlett sat atop the comforter, glancing toward the window. Eventually she stood up, deciding she probably wasn't getting to bed anytime soon. Sliding open the window, she pinned up her hair into a bun, a few ringlets hanging out. Making her way to the kitchenette, she realized that the fridge had been packed and that the there was everything from a microwave to a coffee machine. Making a cup for herself, she tossed in a few sugar cubes and made her way into the living room, hearing the door slide open. "What do you want?" She asked, turning to look who it was. Who the hell came to bother someone at this ungodly hour?
"You must be one of the guys working on the Kira case, right?" She asked, sitting down on the couch. "We met your buddy earlier, it seems he enjoys watching musicals in which high school is interpreted to be completely different than it is in reality." Listening to him ask her to come to the headquarters, she blinked, standing up. What did she have to lose? And it wasn't like she was sleeping anyway. "Sure, I guess. I thought you guys were just going to keep us in our rooms until we were allowed to leave."

L watched her for a moment. "I know for a fact that you're not Kira. He was unable to kill you and your sister because he needs a name and face to kill. Despite the fact that you two are identical, you are not completely the same. He had a name paired with the incorrect face, therefore allowing you two to live. The United States president threatened Kira. I believe his target was the president and anyone else who got in his way. That's my deduction." He started to walk down the hallway with her, his back hunched, hands in the pockets of his wrinkled jeans.
"I've never seen Light view a musical, but I certainly wouldn't put it past him." He added, glancing back at her. "My name is Ryuuzaki. I am the one who answered your telephone, in case your father may ask when you call him." He stated simply, getting into the elevator with her. He hit one of the buttons, which then asked for an authorization code, which he quickly typed in, which he didn't bother to shield knowing she had no way of remembering it because there was no beeping or tone as they were pressed.
"Should you need anything when you are here, if you need anything, the room in your phone's are on a network, simply press 9, and then 813. It will connect you to my private line." The elevator arrived on the correct floor and he went into the area with her at his side. "I also feel it necessary to share that I am the only one who knows of your past. I hid that information from the others because I felt it was unneeded, I could see you were upset when I first mentioned it."
Heading over to a table filled with sweets, he put some cherries in his mouth, eating them before reopening his mouth and removing the stem, tied in the center and at the bottom in two distinctly different knots. "If you like anything help yourself. I don't usually sleep at night, so I don't mind the company. And, if there's anything you'd like to ask me which I am comfortable answering, I will do so."

Scarlett nearly dropped her mug, spilling some of the hot coffee onto her leg. She ignored the small burning sensation, looking at him instead, her eyebrows down set. "I'd rather we don't bring that up. I don't care how much power you hold, you shouldn't be digging in my business." She bit her lip slightly, realizing she might have blown it out of proportion. Her records had never revealed exactly what she had been hospitalized for, just stated that she had a mild case of hallucinations. Shaking her head, she took a seat, holding her mug in her lap. "Not very many people know about that, and I'd like to keep it that way. Just...keep it between us." She said, a little calmer this time.
Watching him head toward the sweets table, she decided to change the subject. "I don't have any questions, just when I'll be released. No offense...but I don't want to spend any unnecessary time here. I'm only making my parents worry." She said, reaching for the bag that sat on the table - her bag. She opened it and slid out her phone, turning it on and checking the missed alerts. There had been either others from her father. Clicking the talk button, she waited for him to pick up. Despite it being so late, she knew he wasn't sleeping.
"Hey dad. Yeah, I'm alright. No, no...no really, I'm okay. No I wasn't..." she paused to touch her hair, lowering her voice in embarrassment. "I wasn't raped. No I was just taken in for some questioning. Oh god, no. No I wasn't drinking. Not smoking illegal stuff either...It's just...Um, I'll tell you the details when I get back home. When? Well, I don't really know exactly. I'll call you tomorrow okay?"

L shrugged his shoulders when she exploded over the fact that he'd found out she'd been hospitalized. "I like to know a little about people before I interrogate them. I purposefully did not reveal your last name or which one of you was which. I will not tell anyone, which is the reason why I didn't allow anyone else to see those records. I saw no reason to show them." Going over to his desk, he turned the monitor on and started to look through some documents that Light had typed up previously. Things seemed in order, and all of his research was correct, but the tone was condescending, and he was currently trying to find the change in his wording and overall word usage from before, during, and after his incarceration, wanting to find some fault or slip up.
"I don't know what you will be released." He said, before the phone call softly. During it however, a small smile came to his face as he started to eat some of the chocolate eclairs that were left for him. It seemed her father always assumed the worst, a respectable trait a father, especially with his previous comments and run around.
Once she hung up, he looked over at her. "I've come to the conclusion that you and your sister are a risk to Kira. I want you here so I can be sure that he doesn't kill you. Keeping you under watch is the only way I can ensure your survival, and I'd also like to have your sister and yourself switch rooms every so often. I don't want the task force to know for certain which one is which. This is mostly a protective measure, because the one whom I've expected of being Kira has eyes within the investigation. There's no need for you to know anymore, but just keep in mind, I am here for if you need anything."

Scarlett traced the top of the mug with her finger, ignoring the drink as it slowly cooled. She nodded, her pink lips pursing slightly as she tried to say something but instead ignored it, sighing instead. All she really wanted to do was go home, the same thing she'd wanted for awhile now. And just when she thought she'd finally got it, it slipped through her fingers again. If she hadn't even gone to that concert, if Kevin hadn't asked her to go...Staring down at the cup, she remembered that one of her friends was dead.
Dead. Kira killed her friend.
The guilt hit her like a bullet and she looked up at one of the screens, trying to distract herself. "Are you sure we were the only survivors?" She asked. Even though she'd heard them say it before, even though she'd witnessed it she still felt like she needed to double check. As if somehow the answer would be different this time around.
Glancing over at the clock, she realized it was 4:35 AM. She hadn't slept at all yet, but she wasn't tired. Not that it was anything new, she just assumed that maybe after a long plane flight and all the interrogating she might have been tired enough to actually fall asleep on time.
