Maka got back up, getting back into her seat. They had finished piling together the condoms. Stretching lightly, she felt her back pop, letting out a sigh as she sank back into her seat, pulling her legs up onto the seat. “Knowing you, you could probably just sleep it away,” she joked, glancing over at him. He always managed to fall asleep in the weirdest places. Like at the dinner table, or in the kitchen while he waited for water to boil for whatever he was making. She remembered coming home to find him asleep in front of their apartment door because he’d forgotten his key.
Kid smiled. “Swell, thank you.” He went back to picking up the condoms and organizing them. He had most of them finished but there were still a few piles that he had to go through. He was even counting them as he went and he hoped to go it came out even. Otherwise he was going to toss himself out of the window, right after he asked Liz to speed the car up. Flipping open the glove compartment, he began setting the stacks he’d created back into the small space. “That should be it. Looks like we’ve got...87. Wait. 87?!” he questioned, standing up suddenly, banging his head on the car roof. Making a sound, he stumbled to the ground. “F-find one more. Please, someone!”

Patti stood from where she was sitting and walked over to Regina, taking her purse and removing one of the condoms. She then walked over to her eccentric meister and handed it to him with a smile. "There, now you have a perfect 88." She stated, happily and then went back to her seat.
The rest of the trip passed rather quickly, especially since Patti convinced everyone, including Karen and Grethen to play a card game with her. They had to play in teams, and they had enough people considering Liz and Kidd were in the front driving.
Once they arrived, Liz parked in the parking garage of the hotel and a few people where there to meet them. They took their bags on a cart and lead them into the hotel through an elevator. Their suites were across the hall from one another, and they had the entire floor of the hotel on either side of the hallway. It seemed that no expense was spared. So, when one of the girls who brought them up said that the ladies would be sleeping on one side and the guys on the other, Liz died a little inside. So... she was going to have to hang out with Regina anyway it seemed. Whatever. If she got irritated enough, she'd kick Kidd out of his bed and make him sleep in hers.
Soul went into their suite, having been told their bags were already there. He stopped dead in the door. "Holy... shit..." If he thought the car was impressive, it was NOTHING compared to this! Each one of them had their own room, there was a full kitchen, living room with a tv that had to the new 100 inch flat screen, and there were two of them! One on each wall. There was a balcony on the far side and he was sure he could see a pool. What the... this was like... heaven! VIP! The MOVIES!
"I feel like a millionaire." He managed to utter.
On the other side of the hallway, Regina had a similar reaction, except she screamed (at a deafening volume) and ran through the suit, jumping over one of the couches and ran through the bedrooms. "I have to have the biggest one!" She exclaimed, trying to figure out which room she wanted.
Liz shook her head and grabbed her suit cases, carrying them into one of the rooms without even looking at what it looked like. She tossed her suitcases down by the bed and looked out the window. "I see a casino!" She exclaimed happily.

Black Star entered the room, equally amazed. “WOAH! This place is like...Hugh Hefner’s house without the bunnies!” he shouted happily. “You rich people have it good, makes me wonder why you don’t associate much with your family anymore, Soul.” Running over, he jumped onto the couch. “YAHOO! THIS IS SO COOL!” he shouted, doing a backflip.
Kid shook his head. “Black Star, off the couch, you’re disrupting the balance.”
Black Star landed on his butt, a frown on his face. “Aw.” He looked at Soul. “I just remembered we’re going to be living with Kid fora a week. Can I go live with the girls?” he asked looking over at Kid.
The boy shrugged in return, fixing the throw pillows. “If you want, but I think they’d throw you out soon enough.” He examined the rooms, making sure they were symmetrical and clean. He finally chose a room that he thought was to his liking, starting to unpack his things.
Walking into the room, Maka was at awe. “Wow...Shinigami-sama really didn’t hold back,” she said, holding her suitcase at her side. Her eyes shifted to Regina as she ran by, causing a light breeze to flutter by. She shook her head and followed the girls down the hallway, pushing the door open to one of the rooms. The room inside was decently sized with a fairly nice view of the ocean. There was a bed, neatly made, with a nightstand on each side. There was also a dresser and a vanity as well. A small bookcase sat at the corner, currently empty. She gave a small laugh upon noticing the symmetry in the room. Of course. Setting her suitcase down, she plopped down on the bed, eyes cast out of the window.

Soul looked around the hotel. "Yeah, this is pretty awesome." He said honestly. "But even my house didn't look like this..." He said honestly, admiring the rooms. he picked out his own and put his things inside of them. It seemed that all of them were designed in similar ways, they had some art on the walls, a bed, two night stands, two dressers, a closet, a mirror. It was very well organized. Soul liked this room because one of the pictures was of a guitarist. There was another smaller picture of piano keys in the room with what looked like a poem. He liked it. After looking out the window and seeing the beach, he smiled.
Well, this was awesome. He then returned to the main room. "What do you guys want to do first?" He asked, sort of wanting to take a ride around town on his motorcycle. He should go ask Maka if she wanted to go for a ride with him. He wondered if they should hit the pool now or later. Or go to the beach... Damn! There was so much they could do!
Patti found her own room beside LIz's room and proceeded to unpack all of her things from her suitcase and put them in the draws. Then she put her suitcases in the closet and walked out. She went into Maka's room and smiled. "What do you think we should do first?" She chimed. The zoo was an all day venture, so that could wait. She wanted to go to the beach or to the pool. She and Liz had bought the cutest bathing suits and she wanted to put hers on.
Liz walked into Maka's room with Tsubaki. "I want to go to the beach." She stated honestly. "Do you want to go see what they guys want to do or should we just pack up and go?"
Regina and her posse found a room on the other side of the kitchen, so they were separated from one another.

Kid unbuttoned the jacket of his suit, removing it and hanging it up. He had decided to stick to his usual formal attire, unlike the others who had dressed lightly. “Whatever you guys want to do,” he said, taking a seat on one of the couches in the living room. He had already picked a room and unpacked his things.
“Let’s go dirt biking!” Black Star shouted.
“Black Star, no,” Kid replied, shaking his head. “Out of everything we could do, you pick that?” He couldn’t understand his thought process. Usually, it was supposed to be harder to figure out the opposite gender, but somehow it was harder to understand Black Star than it was girls.
Maka spun around when Patti and the others made their way into the room. “I’m fine with whatever you guys want to do,” she said, honestly.
Blair trotted into the room, hopping onto the bed and transforming into her human form, already in her bathing suit. “Let’s go to the beach! It’s so pretty!” she agreed, sitting up. “You girls brought your suits right? If you didn’t, I bet we could find a cute boutique that sells them!” she said, happily.
“The beach sounds fun, it’s nearby so we wouldn’t have to drive anywhere,” Maka added. Looking over at the darker haired gun, she pondered it for a moment. “We should probably let them know, in case they want to come too.”
Blair jumped off the bed. “I’ll go tell them~! I’m already ready to go!” Dancing out of the room, she made her way down the hallway and out of the hotel suite. Without bothering to knock, she burst into the guys’ room. “Boys!” she sang, walking into the living room. She swung her hips. “Us girls are heading down to the beach, wanna join?”

Liz nodded. "Beach sounds like a good idea." She stated, watching Blair walk out of the room. She covered her mouth to keep from laughing. "Sexy kitty is about to make the boys suite explode." She joked, walking out of her room to get changed. Once she picked out one of the three suits she bought, she put it on and grabbed a pile of the largest towels from the hotel. Grabbing a duffle bag, she tossed the towels in with some sunscreen and tossed it onto the couch.
Patti put on her own bathing suit which was yellow with brown spots. She ran out into the living room, the tight bikini around her skin. "Let's go! Let's go!" She chimed, jumping up and down.
Tsubaki naturally smiled and nodded. "That sounds like something fun." She agreed and changed. She just hoped that Black Star wouldn't make a scene. She changed into her own bathing suit. It was a dark green one piece. And she was ready. Liz had grabbed towels so there was nothing else she really needed.
Soul sighed. Of course Black Star wanted to do something stupid like that. But oh well. However, the door opened and heaven itself arrived. Blair in the skimpiest bikini he had ever seen. A smirk came to his face. They where in California after all. Going to the beach was like a dream come true. Think of all the chicks in bathing suits!
"Yeah, that sounds like it would be fun." he said with a grin. "I think we'll join you Blair. Tell the girls to hurry up and get ready. We'll be over in like five minutes." With that, he stood and went into his room, unpacking his suitcase to find his bathing suit, stripped and put it on. "Let's go!"

Maka smiled. “Awesome,” she said. The others left the room and she opened her suitcase, searching for the pale green bathing suit Blair had bought her. She put it on and fixed the straps, searching her bag for a pair of sunglasses. Her hair, which had been down, was now pulled into a messy bun, her bangs tucked aside by a few bobby pins. Picking up her book and draping a peach colored throw over dress over her arm, she made her way out of the room to meet the others.
Kid was at ease on the couch, until Blair entered and he tensed up at the sight of a nearly naked and rather busty woman in front of them. He was supposed that his nose wasn’t dripping blood by now. Getting up quickly, he nodded and made his way into his room where he changed into a pair of black trunks, tossed a towel over his shoulder, and threw on a pair of dark sunglasses. He came into the living room a few minutes later.
Black Star threw his hands up. “The beach, yahoo!” he yelled happily. “Get ready, beach babes, Black Star’s coming!” He ran into his room, pulled on some swim trunks and grabbed a towel, running out out of the suite after Blair.
Blair giggled. “Let’s go!” She gave a cute meow before she left the suite, walking across the hall and peaking into the girls’. “Come on, come on, ladies. All those cute boys await!” she said cheerfully, her fingers curling up to mimic a cats paw.

[ insert Sarah's witty timeskip epicness ]
Soul ended up taking his motorcycle to the beach. It wasn't as far as he thought it was, but it made him feel like a badass rolling up and parking it on the street beside the beach. Then he got off and pulled off his sunglasses. Oh yeah, he was the coolest dude here! And shirtless he could show off the impressive six pack he had been working on for months. Literally. Months!
He grabbed the bag that had towels in it and walked out onto the smooth white sand. Oh yeah, this was awesome. He caught sight of Maka and the other girls. Blair, of course, was laying in a pit of buff tan guys. "She doesn't waste any time does she?" He asked, putting down the cooler he bought. Then, he sat on the blanket beside Maka. "Any chance you'll swim instead of reading that book?" He asked, looking over her shoulder at the novel she was in the middle of.
Liz was laying on a towel, her hair pulled back into a ponytail. "What took you so long Soul?" She asked not even looking up.
Soul shrugged. "I went to get some drinks." He stated, pointing to the cooler he bought at the store that was now filled with drinks.
Patti was in the water, splashing Black Star and Tsubaki, laughing contently.

Maka pressed the book up against her chest, blushing. “Hey, don’t be a creeper,” she said, looking over at him. “And yes, I do plan on swimming. I just wanted to read for awhile,” she answered, dropping her eyes back to her book. She was reaching the climax of the story so naturally, she wanted to read even more. Beside her, her phone vibrated as her father sent yet another text. That made 50 since their departure. Picking it up, she quickly tapped something away on the keyboard before she sent it and set the phone back down.
Kid was sitting on top of a neatly spread out towel, his fingers tapping away at a handheld game. “Well, at least now Black Star won’t drink from the ocean. Not that I care, I’m more concerned about him influencing Patti to do the same,” he said, flicking the game up, causing the skateboarder on the screen to do some trick. He glanced up, scanning the scene laid out in front of him. Liz had convinced him to ignore the urge to organize the beach towels and other accessories of everyone at the beach until they were to his liking.

"Why am I being a creeper?" Soul asked, seeing her press the book against her chest. "I was looking at the book, not down your bathing suit..." He countered, assuming that's what she thought he was doing. After all, why else would she have covered her breasts? "Come on, come swimming with me now? The book can't be that interesting." Normally he knew better than to start conflict with Maka when she was reading, but he was bored. Then again, he could have done something else...
Sighing, he stood up, the sun glistening across his back and shoulders. "Please Maka? You can finish it later when the sun goes down?"
"Kidd..." Liz pulled down her sunglasses to look up at him. She heard his game stop. Sitting up, she sighed, and moved to sit on the towel with him. "Here, focus on putting an even amount of sun screen on my back. I can't tan unevenly." She grabbed a bottle and handed it to him, moving her hair off her back. If he started to rearrange people's things, either he was going to get arrested or they'd be asked to leave and she wanted to stick around for a little while.

Maka slid a book mark into her book and closed it, setting it down in her lap. “I don’t know, it’s creepy when people read over your shoulder,” she said. That and it was a fluffy girly book, not the type she usually read. Watching as he got up, she smiled. “Alright, alright.” She held out her hand so he could pull her up, her feet sinking into the hot sand as she soon as she was upright. Standing in front of him, her eyes caught sight of his scar. Even though she saw it constantly, it still felt odd. Despite that she’d come to terms with it, there was still a small amount of guilt that floated up whenever she saw it. Her olive eyes drifted up to meet his crimson ones and she let go of his hand, slowly.
Stepping around him, she turned around so she was facing him, slowly moving backward, her hands behind her back. “Hey, Soul,” she began, smiling. “Last one to the water cooks dinner for a week,” she added. With a giggle, she turned around and ran off ahead before he could process what was going on.
Kid let his attention shift back to Liz as she spoke, his game left unattended. He gave a sigh, relaxing his nerves. Leave the beach the way it is, he thought. As soon as Liz mentioned for him to rub the sunscreen on her, he quickly shut off his game. This task was not to be left to anyone but him. No one else would put enough care into it to make sure that it was spread out evenly. If his partner ended up tanning unevenly, he would go insane. “Alright,” he answered, taking the bottle from her.
He squirted a decent amount in his hand, using the other to ‘paint’ it on her back slowly. Even strokes, even coat. There was no other way to do it. Once most of it was on her back, he used both hands to slowly massage it in, humming happily under his breath. “You will have the best tan of the whole beach. You’re lucky you have me to make sure you don’t end up with zig zag lines on your back.”

Creepy when people read over her shoulder? He had read over her shoulder before. Then again... those were academic books. He smiled at her, worried suddenly that something was wrong. A nervous look crossed her face and then their eyes met. Did she still feel guilty about his scar? Still? He watched her put her hands behind her back and he felt at ease when she smiled. She had a beautiful smile.
"H-Hey!" He called, seeing her starting to run toward the water. "That's cheating!" he ran after her, seeing that she was getting close to the water. Oh no! He wasn't cooking for this many people. Reaching out, he grabbed her wrist before she reached the water. He caught her and picked her up into his arms, walking into the water carrying her. "Looks like we tied." He added with a toothy grin. "Guess that means we have to cook dinner together."
"Aw!" A girl a distance from them whispered to one of her friends. "They're SO cute together! Too bad he's not single. Despite the scar, he's cute."
Good, that meant Kidd was actually thinking about organizing something. Honestly, she couldn't believe he had this much self control. Normally he'd be bleeding from the eyes and freaking out, calling himself garbage. Then again, Kidd apparently gained a great deal of self control when he hit his growth spurt. "Thank you." Liz told him, looking over at her shoulder as he painted sun screen off her back. Normally, she'd get annoyed, but she was used to Kidd's eccentricity. Sighing, she moved her arms out so he could put it on her shoulders as well.

“So what!” Maka called back, smile still on her face. She was so close now, her feet skimming across wet sand as she flew toward the water. Just then, something grabbed her wrist, pulling her to a sudden stop as she stumbled, ready to fall backward. However, someone caught her and picked her up before she did. “H-Hey!” she stuttered, face reddening. Her arms wrapped around him as a reaction, holding on for dear life as he carried her further into the water, his skin hot from where the sun had touched it. She relaxed, realizing he wasn’t going to let her fall. “Since when does Soul settle for ties?” she asked, laughing.
Her attention was caught suddenly and she looked over to the two girls who were talking, a blush covering her cheeks. They thought the two of them were dating? When his hands loosened, she slowly let go, dropping into the water. The cool water washed over her body, sending a shiver up her spine. Could she really see herself with him like that? A wave appeared, washing over them and sending her body forward, her feet scraping the soft sand at the bottom of the ocean.
She continued to wonder, realizing that the image of them in that sort of way was blurred and she honestly couldn’t see it clear enough to believe anything.
Kid promptly moved to her shoulders, his fingers - the rings currently off so that he wouldn’t get sun screen underneath them - worked to cover them in a thin coat of sun screen. Slowly, with a dab of the lotion, he worked up the back of her neck, her skin warm beneath his fingers. His game was now forgotten, sitting beside him on the beach towel, partially in the sand. Working his way down her neck, his hands covered her shoulders as he started to rub the lotion in, moving down her upper arms. “You’re welcome,” he replied, happily. For a moment, he glanced back to see someone set down a radio and turn it on, filling the air around them with music. Remembering hearing the song on the stereo a few weeks back, he picked up the bottle of sunscreen lotion again, squeezing out a little more.

Soul laughed as he walked with her into the water. "Don't worry Maka, I won't let you fall." He stated simply as he slid into the water. Normally she was the one carrying him around (in weapon form, of course), so this was an interesting change. And it showed that he everything he was doing to gain muscle mass was working. Not that Maka was heavy, but still, it made him feel better about himself and all the effort he put into it. "Well, I don't usually settle for ties, but I think it's worth it in this case. I wouldn't want to force you to cook all alone. I know that you'd get lonely." He teased, shifting when she let him go. Then, she moved her legs and he lowered his arms, letting her slide into the cool water.
The girls behind them were loud, and he blushed, looking away. That was... weird to think about, honestly. They were always together, so it wasn't that they didn't work well together. But... dating? Maka was so... Maka-like. He did like being around her, but dating her would be... awkward, wouldn't it? I mean she was sorta... actually really hot in the bathing suit she was wearing.
"Come on Maka.." He took her hand and started to lead her deeper into the water. Truthfully, he didn't want to be around some girls he didn't know that wanted to start rumors about him. As they moved deeper in the water. For him it was around his waist, but the water was around Maka's chest.
Liz moved her shoulders slightly, smiling. "Mm.." She whispered. "You know Kidd, you should do back massages too." Her back arched toward his hands as he rubbed the lotion, leaning back so he could put more lotion on her arms. "Hey Kidd?" She asked, wondering how focused he was on her, rather than the chaos of the beach around them. There were a lot of people spread out all around the beach. There weren't too many people close to them, but she knew that wouldn't help. "Do you think you can handle being here with all these people?"
When the radio turned on, she looked around where the the music was coming from. There was a group of guys not far from them that had turned it on during their volleyball game. "Hey!" She called to one of them. "Turn the radio up!" She called to them with a smile.

Maka let him take her by the hand, stepping against the waves as they moved further back into the water. “Yeah right, you just didn’t want to lose,” she said, smirking at him. The water was up to her chest when they stopped. She turned until she was facing him and noticed that, somehow, the way the sun hit his body helped illuminate his newly built body. Wait a minute. Had she really not noticed before now? I mean, this was the guy she lived with for how long now? And this wasn’t the first time she’d seen him without his shirt. Hell, he’d had his clothes stolen during their exam. For a moment, she glanced back at the girls they’d just moved away from, sinking her body further into the water.
Shaking her head, she smacked her hand down on the water, splashing him and laughing when he flinched from the coolness of the water. It didn’t matter what other people thought anyway. Their lives were their own.
One of the boys glanced away from the game, giving Liz a wink before he turned the radio up louder, going back to the game. The team cheered as they got another point against the opposing team.
Kid laughed lightly. “You think so? I’m just trying to make sure it’s all even. Good to know I’ve got godly hands too, though,” he said. When it was all rubbed in, he sat back, examining to make sure he had gotten every spot, not that he could see since the lotion was rubbed into her skin and invisible now. He perked up when she mentioned his name, shutting the bottle of lotion and rubbing the excess into his hands. He gave another laugh. “Yeah, I don’t know. I mean, I’m getting more comfortable being around people with out having to make sure things are perfect. I guess it’s because I’m realizing that people can’t be perfect.”
Listening as the radio was turned up, he stole another glance at her. “I can change things until they’re perfect, but people are different.”
