Toph walked with him into the mall. "I took his word for it. I knew that he wasn't lying when he told us not to eat anything there." She went with him and ordered after he did. She got Alfredo pasta and two orders of the largest mozzarella sticks they had. Why? She was hungry and she felt like sticking it to Katara that she could eat the fried cheesy goodness. Toph paid for it and then waited for them to finish preparing it. Leaning against the wall, feeling and hearing people move around her, she sighed.
"Katara is going to try to break up Zuko and Mai and I don't know how to stop her." She said seriously. "Can't you get her to like you do she's not causing trouble and chaos for the rest of the school?"

Aang's face reddened suddenly. "What do you mean 'make her like me'? I can't MAKE her like me! And besides, Katara is popular. You know that when she has her eyes set on a boy, she doesn't stop until she gets them or finds someone else who's a lot better, and I'm not a self hater but in case you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly her type. Apparently, Zuko is. She likes tall boys." He said. He had reached the point where he was taller than Katara now - even when she was in her heels - but she liked guys who weren't JUST taller than her, but REALLY taller than her. He picked up a mozzarella stick, watching the cheese ooze out. "Do you really think...I could do something like that?" He asked, slightly quieter this time, as if afraid someone else would hear.

Toph shrugged her shoulder. "Girls like you. That Meng girl follows you around everywhere and is always leaving stuff in your room or under your door. Katara's just a bitch when it comes to things like that. She's not actually interested in the most perfect guy out there, she just has high standards that are unrealistic and idealized. Personally, I think Zuko is to good for her." She then punched him. "And you better NEVER tell her i said that." She threatened, uncertainly. Sighing, she picked up one of her mozerella sticks and dipped into the sauce before taking a bite.
His question actually surprised her and it showed on her face. Swallowing what was in her mouth after chewing it and savoring it's heart clogging goodness, she sighed. "I think you just don't know how to impress her because you're awkward and take Sokka's advice which just makes you stupid. Katara is really predictable. I could most likely just tell you what to tell and buy for her and she'll start liking you over Zuko." There was a pause and she shifted, leaning back in the chair. "Is, that what you want?"

Aang widened his eyes, suddenly interested. "You would do that for me?! I-I mean, you would do that for me?" He asked, a little more calmer the second time around. He blushed again. "What if I just make myself look more of an idiot around her? I'm going to smash another cake in her face, just watch..." He sighed and rubbed his forehead. "It's easy to talk to girls, just not when you like them. Then suddenly everything is hard." (pun intended). He bit into the mozzarella stick, wiping the cheese off his mouth and swiping his hand across his jeans, not caring if he left a spot of grease. He was fine eating this way in front of her. Had it been Katara, he would have probably tried to have the perfect manners which would lead to him spilling something.
He sighed and started eating the pasta. "I mean yeah, its what I want. But even if it were to happen, it wouldn't last very long."

Toph rolled her eyes, feeling his heart beat speed up. They may have been sitting down but his feet were still on the floor and so where hers. "I can give it a shot. You'd have to do everything I told you, but I have no doubt I could make her fall in love with you. And, if it makes her leave Zuko alone, I suppose it's worth it." She said, continuing to eat as he rambled on about how stupid he was around her. "You're just hyperactive and easily excited. You just need to think about what you do." She rubbed her hand against his head, moving his hair around. "We'll go get her something since we're at the mall and then we can start working on it."
She had no reason for why she was helping him, but it was sort of pathetic to see him try. Oh well. It was worth a shot. She started to eat her pasta and pointed her fork at him. "We can start by making you understand that Katara is vain, selfish, and a girl. Just lather her with compliments about the way she looks. Girls like that. You should also tell her, about a week from now that her diet is doing amazing things for her."

Aang smiled. "Gotcha!" He felt like he needed to take notes or something. Why were girls so complicated? You had to make sure you talked to them in the correct way or they didn't want to associate with you anymore. It was like the time he called one of Katara's friends fat on accident. He picked up another mozzarella stick and chewed on it. "Okay so compliments. Whenever I give Katara compliments she doesn't really notice.." He said, recalling the time he'd told her the beanie thing on her head looked nice. Maybe he'd phrased it wrong or something? Once again, girls were complicated.
He smiled again. "Thanks. I really hope this works."

Toph leaned over the table and flicked his forehead. "That's because you're unsure when you say things. That and she's not interested in you. You complimenting is like me complimenting her. She expects it. We just need to do something to make her see you differently." She moved the chair across the table beside him and rested her legs on it. She leaned back in her chair and continued thinking it over. She hoped this would work too. Maybe then Katara would stop being such a super bitch.
"I guess we're just going to have to work at it. I'm sure I could get her to notice you. We need to go to the electronics store and get one of those ear pieces and shit that they have for the CIA that no one can see. If we can do that, then I'm sure I can just tell you what to say and do until you're used to it."

Aang sighed. "I guess you're right. I'm not really good when it comes to things like this. I mean, I can talk to you and you're a girl. It's just that...I don't know, it's Katara." He perked up when Toph mentioned ear pieces. "YES! That sounds cool, let's get them. We can be like secret agents. This is just like those movies I watched with Vin Diesel." He said happily. He almsot seemed more interested in the gadgets rather than actually getting Katara. He smiled. "So you can start helping me today, right? I mean if you aren't busy." He asked.
At least now he was getting somewhere. Maybe Sokka was right, he could get a girlfriend this year. He was eagerly awaiting this year, actually, he was the same every year. Aang actually liked school, unlike most kids. But either way, this year would be better if he had a girlfriend, especially someone like Katara who was beautiful, smart, and nice - at least to her friends.

Toph grinned. "Yeah, I think that would be cool. The only shitty part is I'm going to have to tail you for a while. If i'm not in the same area as you, I won't be too helpful because I can't see." She hated to admit a weakness, but she was going to need to be around them, whether she could see or not. With earth bending, she could actually be farther away because her field of vision was wider with bending.
"Yeah, we can start today. When we finish eating we can go to the tech store and then go over everything you have to say to her when we meet up again. Depending on where we go will change a lot of things." If they went to the beach though, that would make things easier. However, if Sokka was there, Toph would have a hard time giving Aang directions without looking like a crazy person,so maybe it was best if they ditched him?

Aang smiled. "Great." He said and began to eat slightly faster, though he tried not to make it noticeable. He didn't want to look desperate, despite the fact that he was and this was only going to stir him up even more. Could he really get Katara to be his girlfriend? What would the rest of the school think? He had a feeling a few other guys would come after him and try to beat him up. Aang was good at blocking attacks, so getting beat up in school was never a big problem for him, especially when it was from kids who weren't benders.
He finished off his plate of pasta, picking up his drink and downing it. He set it down. "So...you're positive this will work?" He said, rocking back and forth. He was slightly nervous and wondered if this was even a good idea.

Toph sighed. He started to eat faster with more enthusiasm and she rolled her eyes. And this was why she hated Katara so much. Everyone just loved her and wanted to be with her despite the fact she was a horrible, bitter, insensitve person. Not to mention she was a brat that got everything she wanted no matter what. It made Toph want to punch her and everyone that likes her. It would be easy to say she wasn't bitter about it, but she was. Katara was everything she'd never be-pretty, graceful, successful, perfect, elegant, and a beauty queen. It was a reality Toph hated, but it was in fact reality.
Sighing, she nodded. "Yes, but if you keep asking me that, I'm going to kick you." She added, finishing up her mozzarella sticks and started to work on the rest of her pasta. He might have been done, but she wasn't.

Aang sighed. "Fine." He leaned back in his seat, already done eating. He hadn't eaten anything since the morning - he had an orange and half of that smoothie, but that didn't count as real food - so it wasn't surprising that he'd finished so fast. Tipping his chair back, he sipped the remainder of his drink slowly, trying to find something to do while he waited for her to finish up. He was in a better mood than he was this morning, and his mood this morning hadn't bee that bad to begin with. However, the day had been fairly tiring with the moving and all.
Not to mention Sokka was extra picky about how his stuff had to be organized. And he had A LOT of stuff. So much that he'd called Aang over to help him bring it in and organize it. At first, Aang had set up his desk on one side of the room, but Sokka declared that it wasn't right there and wanted it all the way across the already tiny area. He wouldn't have been so annoyed had he not waited for him to set the entire thing out - while reading the stupid how to manual - only to tell him it was wrong.

It didn't take Toph too much longer to finish eating. She threw her stuff in the trash. "Come on Twinkle Toes." She walked off with him towards the electronics store. It was on the opposite side of the mall, but it wouldn't take them too long to get there. It was still a bit early and not too many people in the mall. The majority of people that were there today were the students at A-Star Academy. As they walked, Toph turned to face him. "So tell me something. Why do you even like Katara?" She asked simply. A lot of guys seemed to. The only one that didn't like her was Sokka, (and even though it would have been disgusting if he did like her) she assumed she only liked him because of it. It's not like he was charming, or smart... or interested in her.
Once they were inside and lead him to the section that had the communication electronics. "Read to me what each of them can do and I'll pick the best one."

Aang stood up when she finished eating. He helped throw away from of the stuff, tossing his throwaway cup as well. He stretched his arms above his head, feeling his back pop. "Alright, let's get this started," he said, a smile on his face. They made their way up the escalator and through the mall until they reached the electronics store where he walked to the back and started looking through various ear pieces.
"These are small and concealable, but they don't look like they have a really long life span. I would hate for it to die out mid way through a conversation where I don't know what to say." He said, but quickly picked up another one. "Oh, these are a little bigger but still not really noticeable. It has various controls that allow the user to change the volume and sensitivity. They also come with a charger and back up battery." He said.

Leaning up against the display, she thought over what he was telling her and shifted a bit, weighing the options in her mind. "Well, the second one is a better deal. How far away away can we be with both of them and they'll still work?" She questioned. It seemed the first one had a long range, 3 miles, but there was no way they'd be that far apart, and the 1 mile perimeter of the second was good enough. "Alright, get the second one." She pushed herself so she was completely standing rather than leaning.
The two walked to the register and she paid for it. He could pay her back some other way. It went without saying that she would be paying for it considering it cost more than a Nintendo DS. This sort of thing didn't happen a lot with Aang, but with Katara and Sokka they assumed that because she was rich she'd pay for everything.
