Toph looked over at him. "Yeah, a blanket would be good. I'll need one for when the weather gets colder. My dorm didn't have heat last year, it's why I was always sleeping in Katara's." Also known as the winter that Toph almost killed her best friend. She walked with him and touched the blanket. "I like it." She ran her hands over it and it was soft as hell. "I love it." After leaning on the shelf, her hand touched something else that was softer.
"What's on this one?" She asked. There was a time when she bought something without having someone tell her what it said. Those words still burned her ass, even to this day. She was an earth benders. There was no way she'd ever be juicy. (I could describe the blanket, . I'm lazy. We'll just say it has a picture of Appa from the original series (which maybe shouldn't exist in this one?).

Aang looked over the blanket. "A picture of a bison, looks like it's flying." He said, smiling. "It's pretty cool. Really cool actually." He said, touching it. It was really soft and felt almost...furry. He wondered if he could come back later and get one of them too. He smiled. "So which one do you want? They're both really warm, so I don't think that either is bad." He said, smiling. Glancing around, he started to feel some of the pillows too, handing the blankets back to her so she could decide. The pillows were luxurious too, big and poofy. Aang began to realize how easily he could fall asleep in this store.
"Despite how much I don't really like shopping for this kind of stuff, some of it is actually kind of cool. Like that Spongebob lamp, that's awesome." He said, running over to it.

Toph held both of them. "I'll just get both of them." She answered, rubbing the one that had a flying bison on it. "But this one actually feels like fur. I know it's not but it's so soft, I love it. Come on, you know how things will go if we keep Katara waiting." She added with a laugh, covering her mouth with her hand. "Let's go." She took his hand and brought him to the register with her. The cashier rang it up and she paid for it, in cash this time and then handed the bag to Aang. "You hang onto that." She said simply.

Aang took the bag from her, carrying it. "Okay," he said as they walked out of the store, taking a turn down one of the walkways. "She's probably already outside waiting," he added, letting his free hand rest in his pocket. He felt around for the remote, making sure he hadn't dropped it while they were in the store. As they approached the glass doors that were the exit, he noticed the navy blue beetle sitting in one of the parking spots just outside the mall. "There she is," he said.

Yeah, Aang was most likely right. Knowing Katara, when she was done with what she deemed important, everyone else had to move their ass or face the wrath of the she-water-beast. The two of them moved towards the main exit of the mall and she heard him fidget with something, but didn't comment. It was most likely the remote for the headphones, which she knew he'd put in his pocket earlier. "When I come to get my blankets, you should give me the headphones and stuff. I can hide them in my room so she or Sokka doesn't find them in yours." She stated simply. It made the most sense. If they were going to date, Katara would rip apart Aang's room. As comical as it was, it was Katara's version of a background check.
"Yeah, now we have to go to the beach and listen to Sokka complain about the fact he can't catch a fish." She mused as they walked over to Katara's car. Toph opened the door and jumped in the front seat. One of her friends was in the backseat, and it seemed that Katara was thoughtful enough to have her get in the back. That or she was just terrified to be in the front seat with Katara and with her driving, it wasn't unjustified.

Aang nodded. "That makes sense," he said, though he kept the remote and other accessories in his pocket. It was too risky to hand them to her now that they were approaching Katara's car. He decided to give them to her at the beach when she wasn't paying attention. Pulling open the back seat, he hopped it. "Hey, Suki," he greeted and the girl smiled back, waving. "Sorry we took so long, Toph - I mean, I needed to pick up some blankets for my dorm," he said, setting the bag of blankets down on the back seat between himself and Suki.
Katara shrugged. "Whatever," she muttered. Her blue eyes glanced into the rear view mirror, at Suki. "My brother will be at the beach too," she said, smirking.
"How did you even..."
"I'm not dumb." She straightened up, backing the car out of the parking spot and driving off.

Toph reached behind her and pulled her seat belt on. Great... Suki liked Sokka too. It's not as if she hadn't expected it, because there wasn't really much of a reason for Sokka to like her. She was blind, short, and Toph didn't care about her appearance, so she was sure that Suki was much prettier than she was because of it. Not to mention she'd never ask for help on something she couldn't judge. Sighing, she closed her eyes and leaned backwards. Toph had never been one for the beach. Granted, it was getting dark, so it wasn't as if they'd be swimming or anything like that. "Katara, will you promise not to try to throw me in the water this time?"

Katara smiled. "That was Sokka's idea the last time," she said, though she was lying. It had been her who had come with the idea and Sokka was the one that threw her in. How was she supposed to know that it would piss her off? She had only meant it as a friendly joke. Apparently blind people didn't like water or something like that. Who knew? She made a turn onto the crowded street and started down the road that led to the beach.
Aang's eyes drifted over the scenery as they passed it, noticing as the urban setting began to fade. The day itself was ending, allowing pinks and oranges to streak the usually blue sky. An evening on the beach was exactly what he needed after a day of settling in. He only wished he had remembered to bring swim trunks.

Toph closed her eyes needlessly. She hated being in anything that moved fast: planes, cars, boats. They all gave her a headache, especially the way Katara drove. Also, she was tired, despite there being no logical reason behind it. Laughing at Aang and dealing with Katara's uptight attitude always made her tired by the end of the day. Yet, it wasn't even that late. Oh well, shit happens, right? "We're inside metal Katara." She added, letting her know that meant she could still feel vibrations, even if they weren't as they would be if they were outside.
Sokka and his friends were already at the beach, shirtless, running around in the water, trying to show one another up. One of the guys with them was a water bender and was water surfing across the waves, making fun of Sokka as he did so.

Katara looked over. "Calm down, I won't crash," she replied, parking the car on the side of the road.
Before she was even fully stopped, Aang was already flying out of the car, tearing off his clothing. So much for waiting to go into the water. He created an air scooter, jumping onto it and zooming through the beach, lifting sand into the air. "Cannonball!" he shouted, jumping into the air and forming a ball, dropping into the water with a loud splash.
Opening the door, Katara stepped out. Underneath the collar her shirt, there was an indication of a bathing suit. It was clearly new, bought at the mall because she hadn't thought of bringing one. She tossed her tote over her shoulder and walked down the sandy beach. "Oh that's cute! Too bad I'm a better water surfer!" she called to the boy who was surfing. She dropped her bag into the sand and undressed into her light blue bikini, making her way to the water. It seemed as if Sokka had bought more than the amount of friends she thought he would. There were two other cars parked next to hers.

Darian stopped surfing and stood on his ice surf board. "Oh? What's this? Little Katara wants a contest?" He teased, laughing, making a larger wave and moving up it, surfing in the wave before it crashed. He rode back to the store, his board melted and he smiled, walking over to Katara. He bended some water against her body with a smile. "Why didn't Sokka tell us a water goddess was going to enter our presence?"
"Dude? What the fuck? Ew." Sokka complained, glaring at him. A lot of his friends like Katara, but in front of him? Show some respect!
Toph was the last to get out of the car. She jumped from the side walk to the sand and paused, getting back her vision. The beginning of last year, she could barely see on the sand. Now however, it was as easy to see on it as anything else. Walking towards where everyone's stuff was, she pulled a towel out of Katara's stuff and sat on it. She wasn't going in the water, or near it.

Katara smirked and ran to the water. "I'll show you 'Little Katara' when I win," she said, smiling. She jumped onto the water, landing on a piece of ice that was shaped like a surfboard. Giving herself a push with waterbending, she soared off over the water. "He's right, Sokka, the water goddess has arrived!" she shouted, doing a trick and riding one of the waves. "Anyone else going to join, or are you all to afraid to be in the part of the world that's under my control?" she teased at the others.
Aang ducked as under the water as Katara almost ran over him, laughing. Despite that he was an airbender, Aang enjoyed water a lot and was a fairly decent swimmer. He definitely loved beach days. He could freeze the water with airbending, but he couldn't shape it so that it was like hers because he wasn't a waterbender. "Hey, Katara! If you make me one of those, I'll surf with you!" he shouted. It was so much easier to talk to her when he wasn't trying to talk to her in that way.

Darian laughed and surfed with Katara. He was a water bender from the North, and he was just as skilled as she was. Truth be told, calling her a goddess was based on how she looked, not what she could do. She was a cocky bender, but she was sexy as hell. Hailing to her was worth it if the rumors about her were true. He wasn't sure of they were, but half the school wanted to get in there. He smiled and bowed on his surf board after they'd finished the wave, its lacking remnants crashing on the shore.
Sokka made his way over to Suki. "It's a beautiful sunset, isn't it?' He asked, following her line of vision.

Katara didn't seem to mind what every one at the school thought of her. Actually, she almost embraced it. It made her popular didn't it? She was the girl that nearly every boy in the school wanted, the one that all the girls were jealous of. At least this was how it was in Katara's perfect mind.
Suki glanced over as he made his way toward her. She smiled, letting her vision fall back to the sunset. "It is," she replied. "I can't believe summer is almost over. It feels like yesterday was our last day of school."

- this is my fancy time skip. Be impressed. -
Toph got into the Air nomad dorms in a much less than faculty approved way. She removed one of the walls, then put it back the way it was. After running up a few flights of stairs, she made it into Aang's room. Walking inside, she laid down on his bed. The room was empty, so she waited until the door opened. "Welcome back Twinkle toes." She said in a bored fashion. "We need to talk." She sat up and faced the door. "And don't look so surprised."
