Mello nodded, agreeing on the fee and the conditions. Honestly, the curiosity of seeing the creature in true form, in the sea, meant more to him than the money. But, well, money was nice to have. "if you'd like her dead, I could arrange. I could also have someone who looks like you appear dead too." He grinned, as if offering to make the man disappear, so his whole life evaporated into nothing. Just another dead celebrity. They didn't work around him? Well... interesting. He wondered how they photographed the red head. Well, no matter for now.
Stranding, the blonde stretched his lean body, midriff exposed, a line of subtle muscles slightly visible for them to see. "Well then, let us go. I can sense how anxious things are getting downstairs. People may leave if I don't show them what a gracious and giving host I can be."
The human flickering around from the bathroom to the bar caught attention from a few of the vampires. There was a stage on the bar. Well, two stages. One had a band that was playing music. the other had an empty throne. Groups of young girls and young men gathered, whispering about the one called Mello, the commanding vampire of this area. He was well known, for both his looks, and the fact he could walk in the day. He could be in the sun without being hurt or at all affected, or so the rumors said. He often wore sunglasses though, to protect his brilliant blue eyes. But his throne sat empty without a beauty to perch in it. And the more time that passed, the more restless everyone seemed to become.
Finally, there was movement on the stairs and Mello entered the room, but not alone. A human, or what appeared to be human anyway, was at his side. "You need not stay with me," he added to Matt with a coy grin. "But you may also mingle if that suits you." He winked at the red head and went up the five steps to his throne and sat on it. Immediately, people approached the bottom steps, forming a line, asking and begging for his attention, which he did not give to just anyone.
"You would be foolish to try to approach him, as nervous as you are," a calm soothing voice danced across Gevanni, acting almost as a tranquilizer, immediately relaxing the tense and nervous human. Waving his hand, the bartender gave the dark haired man a glass of scotch, which he then offered to Gevanni. "I am new here, and it seems you are too," the soothing tone returned, this time accompanied by a divine smile. "I am called Ryuuzaki, might I ask for your name?" He was curious about this human. There was a strange twisted torment within him, the same torment most vampires had after being turned. It was... interesting.
Near came downstairs after Mello had distracted everyone. He hated entrances. Now he was dressed in black pants and a dark grey shirt that looked black. The clothes were tighter, but not too tight. He looked sickly thin in his own mind and he hated it when people noticed it. Some thought he died of starvation and then was turned, but he wasn't that underweight. The whitenette looked around and went to the bar. Leaning over it, at the far end, he ordered some whiskey to warm him since he knew he was likely cold. And, it wasn't as if he could taste the stuff.

The commotion did draw attention, quite a lot of it, in fact, as people, human and vampire alike milled in front of the odd little throne. Matt flinched back from all of the people, and indeed left the alpha vampire's side. The people moved like waves in the sea, giving and taking, ebbing and flowing, and he could follow that flow. His looks turned heads, as they always did, but he didn't care. His curiousity wasn't abated, and that meant he still felt drawn to find out things. To the bar he went, and asked for water.
Stephan didn't jump at this voice. It seemed like someone who knew what they were doing. Thank god above. he turned, and smiled nervously, again, unfaked, if only because of how nervous he was that this would go wrong. "O-Oh. Nice to meet you. I'm Stephan Gevanni." He answered, the codename falling off his lips as easily as his own would. "I uh... Well... I've always wanted to try this... But I come from a pretty strict family, you know? So..." He chuckled a little, "Catholic guilt." Everyone made fun of his religion, called them pedophiles and strict, but once this was over, the earth would see who it was that had rescued them from perdition.
Light slithered through the crowd easily and right next to Mello. He received several interesting names thanks to it, not the least of which was "asshole", but he wasn't going to deal with that. "There is someone here who interests me. But I cannot find them. I saw only black hair, and I NEED to see them." He explained with a quick hiss into the blonde's ear. "Do you know anyone like that?"
"HEy! Fuckface! Wait your turn!" One of the drunk idiots called, drawing attention from the redhead at the bar. Humans grew angry and indignant at the quickest reflex. Light sniffed, crinkling a nose he'd stolen from a conductor in italy, right before he'd slain the man.

Mello tilted his head when the man was slain and looked annoyed. He took the body before it hit the ground and tossed it behind him. Two vampires grabbed the corpse and disappeared with it to feed before the blood started to break down. The blonde grinned, his fangs shiny and strong. "Now now..." He teased Light with a smirk. "There are many men here with dark hair. Rod had dark hair once. You'll have to be more specific than that." He held his finger to his lips and took a drink that was offered him as the band played loudly around them. He allowed attention to a few people around them, but not enough to fully satisfy any of them. Women offered their necks and damn near exposed themselves, wishing for a chance, a taste, a piece, of Mello, of what he was and the stories surrounding him. Stories, that no one ever countered with slander.
"My little salt water friend slipped away," Mello pretended to pout over this.
Ryuuzaki on the other hand eyed this human, studying him closely. "I see. Catholic guilt is common here. Many suffer from it, especially since sexuality is made to appear so dirty so often." he chuckled. "But do not be so nervous. All the people here are open and like minded. Even if you still believe in god, they will not shun you here. After all, it is the bigots who shun all of us for being who we are. Relax and take a deep breath." He clapped the man on the shoulder. "Try talking to someone before you start to sweat." another kind smile followed and it was becoming clear that this man was not interested or hitting on him, he was simply attempting to put him at ease.
"Ah," he took his own drink from the bar, which smelled powerfully sweet. "Tell me, what did you come here for exactly? I've never been here before, but it seems they have many things." There were dancers not far from them, vampire women of course, scandalously dressed and moving fast and slow, contorting and flexing their bodies seductively for the men who held no interest for Mello. Men who wanted to experience fucking a vampire woman, perhaps even be bitten by one.
Rod moved across the bar suddenly, right past Gevanni and almost knocked into him. "There you are, there you are!" He called, sounding almost as if he was talking to a child. Humor laced his voice and a rumbling laugh followed.

The laugh drew his attention, and Gevanni couldn't even answer the kind man's questions, because his eyes followed Rod (asshole) until they caught sight of his tiny friend. No... No, a child here? These sick fiends, of course they were tainting children. "I-I'm sorry, I have to go." He breathed to the friend talking to him, and before he could even think to stop himself, to stop this before he broke his role, before he ended up ruining everything, he found himself following Rod.
Which left Matt in an interesting place, if only because suddenly Near was surrounded by large, sweaty men, and Matt wanted nothing to do with this. So, he slid around the others, and towards the vampire with the odd drink choice. "What is that?" He asked, because he'd smelled sweet things before, but this seemed designed to murder someone with sugar. Curiousity couldn't be contained, not right now, anyway, so he rode with it. Perhaps he would even try this drink.
"Don't quibble, I'm sure he'll be back." Salt water friend? What in the world was that supposed to mean. Light didn't want to know. "It was a color similar to sable black, like a friesian stallion." He explained, wishing he could show the other, but a shifter revealing themselves in a crowd like this would most likely cause a goddamn riot, and he wasn't interested in being lynched.

Rod came up to where Near was at the bar and teasingly grabbed him by his hips, lifting him to place him on a stool since Near was too short to do it himself. A part of him liked to tease Near because it was so dangerous. Near was older than Rod and much more powerful. The younger someone was when they were turned, the more powerful they could be. So he chuckled at the small white haired boy and leaned beside him, ordering a drink and sitting down. "How did the transaction go? All sides satisfied?" Rod prodded, wanting to know more.
"You'll find out later," Near shot at him in a hushed voice, clearly annoyed that Rod would bring this up in the open. Then, Near caught a scent he recognized in the bar and jumped in surprise when a human approached Rod Ross. A very similar human.
L blinked a few times at the appearance of the red head. His eyes widened and he put the drink down and turned to fully face Matt staring. "It is blood and pure converted glucose..." He marveled at Matt and walked around him. "I... I cannot believe it. A real living and breathing selkie... amazing." He smiled and raised a hand. "Are you here to seduce? Is your fur color red?" The man was interested now, clearly peaked with curiosity, the same curiosity inherit in Matt.
Mello sighed, not sure what Light wanted from him, so he shrugged and sipped his drink. Then he pointed to Gevanni who was quickly moving across the bar. "Like that dark haired man there? He has sable black hair."

Light turned to look, only to snort, and frown, "That is not sable black, mello, that is clearly a brunette died black." He answered, shaking his head, "No, It's..." he sighed, unsure how to describe it. "There's something else to it. It's... It's familiar." he couldn't place it, nor why it was so important he see it again. "Whatever. You said that there was someone here I should meet. Who was it?" He asked, since he'd clearly been cleared to plant his (stolen from a biciclyst) ass right on Mello's chair-arm.
Blood and glucose sounded absolutely horrid, but... "May I try it?" Curiousity tended to get him in trouble, but well, he might as well learn to like it, right? "Ah... you know what I am." He blinked. "I'm here on business. Mello's getting something back for me." He answered. "No. My fur is grey-brown." he paused, as if remembering something, "With little black spots." He reached out and touched the hand, as if to give a high five. He'd been trained by Mother well to respond to human cues.
"Ah, hello again." Gevanni tried, stopping just short of Rod, and he wanted nothing more than to grab the kid, and drag him out of the bar, and take him home and feed him and make sure he never, ever thought to step foot in this kind of place again. "Sorry, sir, mind if I talk with him?" He asked, hooking a thumb towards the child, asking Rod's permission.

Mello rolled his eyes, of course Light with his one track mind. Very well. He slowly stood from his chair. "Lets go, move that fine ass," the blonde teased and moved down the stairs eloquently. He moved past the bar and rubbed the top of Near's head affectionately, eying the child as he walked by him. He could sense the presence of his maker as they moved.
L shrugged and offered the glass to Matt. "You probably would like it bitter, being of the sea," this was honest advice and he meant it in the sincere way possible. BUt, all the same, he let the selkie taste the high ball glass mixture. And, L ordered another one. Then he sensed something moving toward him and inhaled deeply. "I am here on business too. How well do you know Mello?" He questioned. "I wish you luck in getting your fur back." Then he held a long finger to his lips. "I will keep it quiet, I promise." He chuckled.
Rod heard movement and a human voice. He groaned and rolled his eyes. "Fuck off, little human. Why should I let you say anything to him? You wanna speak, then speak, I ain't gotta leave for you to run your mouth, do I?"
"Mm!" Near let out a surprised and disgruntled sound when Mello rubbed his head. He looked after the blonde with a pouted scowl and shook his head. He tried to fix his hair, but his back straightened when he heard the human. He then glared at Rod and slid out of the chair he was placed in, with his glass. Finishing off the strong whiskey, he put the glass on the bar top with ease and walked by Gevanni. He moved his head. "Come on." He said, walking off so the confused mortal could follow.

Matt took the drink, and swallowed a gulp of it. It wasn't too bad. It reminded him of something. something he couldn't name. He smiled, glad when the vampire ordered another one for himself, because Matt would not be giving this one back. "It tastes good. Sweet... but familiar." He wondered what it was he was remembering. "Thank you. Mello has offered to kill the woman who stole it. I am debating letting him."
Following the blonde into the crowd, Light gave the crowd a once over again. Adjusting his cheekbones just the tiniest bit, adding a little of that japanese boy he'd seen on tv the other night into his face. "Mello, if this is another one of your games-Ah!" He didn't pause, because he'd seen it again, he instead pushed just a bit forward, past Mello's blondeness and to look at the man wearing that hair. His eyes took in every feature, and it was...
He couldn't name it. This feeling, this sudden feeling of wanting to stare at this man for days. Every detail was exquisite. He swallowed, hard, as Mello lead him to the man, and to the creature next to the man, with it's ginger hair.
"Mello." Matt blinked, smiling, "I found a drink."
The crowd didn't part so much as sway out of the way of Near as he lead Gevanni to somewhere secluded. Gevanni's larger frame had a harder time getting through. He finally caught his breath once they stopped, just enough to immediately asked, "Are you alright? What are you doing here!?"

Letting Mello kill the thief? "That does sound like Mello. Perhaps you should." he nodded with a smile. "It may feel good, to see the person who so wronged you die."
Well, that was a fast change. Mello realized now that it was L that Light had glimpsed and wanted to see more of. He almost growled. "Do not mock him, for that, I may kill you." the blonde said pointedly, but without an air of a threat. He did like Light, but was properly warning him.
Mello chuckled at Matt, "I can see that, my friend. And what do you think of that drink?" It was L's. He knew from the smell, L's blood had always been sweet. Mello had fed on him often when he was young. Nothing tasted better and no other blood compared. Except, for maybe hers.
L blinked and glanced toward the man admiring him. a grin met his lips, a crooked grin. "May I help you, shifter?"
Near wasn't sure how to answer this question. Should he tell them he was one of them? Should he lie? But, he didn't really see the point, so he sighed and relaxed his shoulders, but, for humans this was a sign of weakness and defeat, even despair. "I work here." Was the honest answer that came after, and large, dark black eyes came upwards and stared into the ocean blue ones of this large man, in amazing shape for a mortal.
"Why are you so concerned about me? I belong here." He didn't realize this human assumed his innocence, meaning that when he said he belonged here, he was inferring that the vampires owned him.

The fascination only barely shook off when the face smiled at him. That wasn't quite the right smile... something about it was off. But Light couldn't assertain where he came to that conclusion, or why. "Ah, forgive me." He shook it off. "Your features are very... pleasing. It's rare for me to find an entire visage I enjoy, and so therefore I found myself rudely staring." He held out his hand, to shake. "Light Yagami, at your service sir." Mello's warning was apt. Light could tell this was a very powerful vampire. He wasn't about to piss him off.
The selkie child gave a smile, surprised. Mother didn't ask him what he thought of things. "I think it's tasty. It reminds me of something. I don't know what though. He thinks I should let you kill her. That it would make me feel better. Do you?" Curiousity brought questions out like bubbles in the drink, which honestly wasn't very bubbly. Perhaps it was going to his head? That was impossible...
"Why? you're a KID." Gevanni answered, sighing. "You don't BELONG here, you belong with your family, in school, asleep at this hour of night, jesus christ, your parents must be worried SICK." He was babbling, he didn't know why, but he hadn't been lying when he'd said he was running all nighters. "Look, kiddo, I get that these people have a lot of stuff you don't have in your normal life. But they do not OWN you. You're your own person, and you deserve to be safe. Cmon, I'll drive you home, okay?"

"Yagami." the vampire repeated, reaching out to shake his hand. "It is a pleasure." He shook the man's hand and then took a step back to admire him. He walked around him, judging the brunette. "Interesting. You are quite skilled. Some shifters can only do animals. You do people well, and create a visage you like from many. I have never seen talent like this. And I have known many many shifters." He grinned, almost happy. "So, what are you doing here?"
When Matt spoke, all of L's attention went to him. He smiled and ordered another drink and offered it to Mello. A bit of dark chocolate mixed in with a blood. A particular favorite of Mello's. somehow, Mello could still taste chocolate, but only raw chocolate in it's simplest form. It was amazing, but everyone had one thing they still could taste and often craved. But Mello didn't react to the smell of chocolate, only the taste. It made no sense, but oh well.
"Now," L began, eyeing the drunken seal. "I never said you should kill her--" a deceptive grin. "Well, I did, but just to make you feel better, after what she's done to you. ONe so pretty as you." he cupped the seal's face.
Mello grinned. L was so easy around others. They were charmed by his age, by his aura. "I think you should kill him, if it is what L desires." He added, nodding firmly. "Would you... like to try?" He offered his drink to Matt, wondering how wild his selkie could be.
Near wanted to argue with Gevanni, but no one... no one had ever cared for him like this before. Even when he was turned... he was dying. He was so close to death and it was immediately clear that there was nothing that could save his life. People feared him for being unholy and unnatural, yet this plan, this man who clearly believed in God cared for him and for some reason he could not understand. "no one is worried about me." The statement was true and clear. So, he wanted to see what this man really wanted and what he was like. He would agree to follow him, to leave with him. Now Near was curious, something he had not felt for almost a hundred and fifty years. "I-I don't... want to just leave." he looked over his shoulder. He could sense his maker was here, and to not even say goodbye to him. But the human touched his skin, which had been just slightly warmed by the three glasses of alcohol he had consumed.
"O-Okay..." Near finally agreed, looking over his shoulder at the people in the bar once again and moving toward the exit with Gevanni. Rod noticed this, but said nothing. Near was his elder and this was not the first time he had snuck off with a man who appeared to be his elder.

Light soaked up the praise the way he did people's faces, and was rather happy to be praised so. As far as he was aware he was, in fact, the only shifter that COULD do humans. But the trade off was, he couldn't manage animals to save his damned life. It really wasn't fair. Some shifters could kill with claws and teeth, he had to carry a gun. So the attention was quite nice. Only for that attention to be taken away by a drunken- Was that that model? ...Well, he was keeping that face. He frowned, turning back to the others. "You do realize he's underage, right?" he asked, "I thought your establishment didn't serve minors?"
Curiousity had been taken over by Happiness, and now the selkie was fair glowing. Which basically turned him into a goddamn nymph in looks. He nodded, grinning happily as he leaned forward to steal a drink from the blonde's cup. It tasted odd, but it had that tingle to it. He crinkled his nose, "It's... not as good as the other one. The whale one." He blinked, "Oh. That's where I remember it from. It tastes like whale blubber."
He realized it may seem suspicious, if he just dragged the boy out of the bar and took him back to wherever the kid lived, but... "Look, no matter what, someone is worried about you. If anything, I'm worried about you. you really need to rethink this thing, kiddo. There's plenty of places to go that don't involve murder and sex and blood. Cmon, let's get you home." he unlocked his car door and opened it for the kid. "Here, hold my cell phone. If you get worried, or if you think i'm gonna do something to you, call the cops, and we'll pull over and wait for them, and they can take you home, okay?"

L chuckled and shook his head as he stood beside Light. "No, in the mortal world he is, but he is not human. He is likely older than you are, shifter." He looked over the shifter in question and looked happy, as strange as it seemed. "So, I am curious, why do you find me so compelling? Surely there are many things in my appearance you wish to change... being as... excellent and perfect as you are." He gestured to the man. Of course, L was just about flawless himself.
Mello was amused by Light's jealousy and left L with him while he played with his seal nymph that seemed content to dance for everyone. So, Mello put a hand on the flexible seal's waist to brace and moved his hips behind the others. He wanted to see what this seal would do. Finishing his own drink, he thought it best to let the mammal sober up, but there was no reason he couldn't play with him while he did so. And he was happy, grinning, as he was grinding his hips against the other mans. It was an amazing feeling, something not human, but stronger, with dormant power, yet not quite vampire, since he was still living. It was thrilling.
This man... This man was odd. The oddest man Near had met, and Near was the same age as Mello. after 1,000 years, he had seen much. THey had seen much. He eyed the male and held the phone. He moved it in his hands. "I don't-" He did have a place to go, but it was empty. So, he wanted to see what the human would do. "I have no place to go." He explained. "I have no family, no parents." Perhaps then the human would see how futile this situation was. Surely with no parents, he'd have no choice but to try and reason him to return to something. Honestly, Near didn't understand how much this man cared and how much he seemed willing to risk for him. And for what? Surely not sex? Or, maybe... it was sex with someone that cared? What was this human?

That was just about the saddest thing Gevanni had ever heard get said. He bit his lip, before swallowing. Closing the door for Near, he went around to the driver's seat and got in. "Well... Then you've got a few choices, I suppose. you can stay with me, for a while, if you want, but you'll have to go to church with me every sunday. Or... if you prefer, I can drive you to a shelter, and you can stay there, too. I'll visit you, to make sure you're alright. But... You need to be safe, and that's not going to happen here." He took a deep breath. "I'm not going to let these things take another child away from the world." With that, he started the car.
The pounding music, and the beat of a body against his own was a lot like the waves of the ocean, and Selkies were made to dance. The tune was different, the bodies strange, but there was nothing off about the beat that rang with heartbeats. He dropped back, leaning almost entirely against the body against his back, one arm lifting around the blonde's shoulders, the other swaying with the beat. The crowd around him seemed to melt into the same movements, the same beat, some fae magic shifting the tone of the music of the sound. Fae always were creatures of creation, of destruction, and to have one in a crowd such as this? Well, no wonder the creature was drunk and the music seemed louder.
Light blushed, something he'd never done involuntarily before. "I... I can't name it. There's just something..." He shook his head, "And of course there are things I would change. You don't smile right. It's... off, somehow." He sighed, "But regardless, I'm not the one wearing the face, so therefore you can do what you wish with it. I'm simply enjoying looking at it. your visage is a work of art."

The rumble of the engine drew Near to this man's beating heart. It was so smooth and steady, strong. So he smiled and put the phone in the cup holder. "I," he began softly, but his tone grew stronger as he spoke. "I will come live with you, but the albino-ism makes me light sensitive. I will go to church, but I'd like to go before dawn. Bright lights hurt my eyes and I sunburn easily. Sunscreen doesn't help." Being with vampires almost seemed to make sense now, as if he was born for their lifestyle. "I apologize... if this is inconvenient for you. If you rather leave me in a shelter or just out somewhere, I will understand."
The music grew louder and the night went on and on. The constant movement of the people around them, and it seemed the building itself moved as they moved, swaying and shaking. It was peaceful and strange, a sort of creative dance that let the two of them move around one another. The strangest part was when Mello realized the red head was taller than he was, yet was still in front of him, yet it worked. He would never let someone else hold him as he held his fae, especially with witnesses. It would never be allowed. He chose, he held others, he did things. He would not allow someone to claim him in such a way.
Warm, fluid movements brought them together in this strange, grinding euphoric heaven that Mello didn't want to stop. There was something different about this fae, the way he moved, his scent. the way he cast off magic. Magic rarely worked on Mello, but this he could feel. This was definitely real. He couldn't place it, but it felt as if this fae had some magical sway over him. Or, maybe it was because his blood smelled so good and Mello was always in the mood to feed.
Th cheeks, even in darkness tinted with blood caused the vampires eyes to dilate, after all, it was just blood rushing to his face. He shook his head. "Come," he offered his hand to the other. Them, looking up at him through thick lashes, he briefly gave him a perfect smile. "Everyone else is dancing to the fae's entrance. We should join that, or be left out of that magic. You should let yourself enjoy this human experience. after all, you are just a supernatural mortal."
