Aang smirked, "Only if you want to. Oh, and you just keep believing that you're better. Do you have super cool arrow tattoos?" he joked. "Anyway," he said, finishing off his orange and picking up an apple instead. "I already know I'm going to win this and stay bald." Leaning back against the wall, he bit into the apple with a crunch, chewing the large chunk of fruit. He was so pumped for this bet. There was no way Toph could go that long without meat. She was too much like Sokka when it came to metas.
"Yeah, I would have, but it's not my place. It's yours," Smellerbee answered, satisfied when he decided to get up. "It doesn't matter anyway. We're going to go home soon and you'll continue being the leader you are," she said, opening the door. Looking over at Suyin, she laughed. "He swept you off your feet didn't he? Oh Jet, you charmer."
Suyin fell forward and smacked her head onto the nightstand, startled. "What?!" She snapped her head back, a line of blood trickling from her nose from the incident. Yeah, that was it...
Smellerbee smirked. "Well, either way. Breakfast is nothing extravagant. Toast a 'la Longshot and noodles with vegetables by yours truly. You better hurry up before Aang pisses Toph off enough that she bends the floor and table into his face," she said, exiting the room.

Toph crossed his arms. "Ew... why would I want tacky tattoos that make it so everyone can identify me as the loser who wasn't man enough to kill the fire lord?" She teased, walking over to him, taking the apple from his hand. "And why do you think you'll win? You greatly underestimate my willpower. I'm not a weak little shit like Sokka. I can overcome anything. I'm the greatest earth bender in the world. None of your other pathetic lives invented metal bending, now did they?"
"Oh Jet, you what?" Jet repeated, following Smellerbee out of the room. "What's that supposed to mean? The Shui-Khan festival was last night. I brought her too it and we called a truce!" He grabbed Smellerbee and picked her up, twisting her so she was on his shoulder, her face next to his. "Why are you making this into something else?" Longshot hit Jet in the back, and because he hadn't put his armor on, he dropped the girl on his shoulders, who Longshot caught chivalrously before putting her down and walking away with his arm around her shoulder.
"Assholes..." He muttered, walking back into his room to see that Suyin was bleeding. "That's talent." He pointed to the blood and walked over to her, tilting her head back and ripping a towel near the side of the bed, wiping away the blood. It wasn't a lot. When he finished his self appointed task (he saw it as his fault... Smellerbee might as well have slammed her face into the night stand) he resumed dressing and putting his armor on.

Aang smirked, "I did invent energy bending though, which is a lot cooler than metal bending," he said, biting into his apple again. "And it doesn't matter if I didn't kill the Fire Lord, he's in jail now where he should be. Everything's fine." He sat down in one of the chairs at the table and tipped it backward, using the air to keep himself balanced. "Oh you might not be as weak as Sokka, but you'll be weak after you eat vegetarian for a few days."
Smellerbee smacked his back with her fist. "Hey, put me down! I still have a dagger on me and I'll stab you in the ass, Jet." When he put her down, she dusted herself off and smirked. "I'm just saying. You should have told me that earlier instead of letting me infer things. And how come you didn't remind us about the festival? I wanted to go too," she said, poking his arm. Something flew through the hallway window and passed her. "Hey, Aang!" she called, "Your lemurs back!"
Suyin groaned, "Come on, stop babying me," she whined, as he tilted her head back and snatched the towel from him, keeping it pressed against her nose. "I'm glad to see there's at least one person who can keep you in line," she said, referring to Smellerbee with a laugh. When her nose stopped bleeding, she tossed the towel into the basket with the dirty laundry and made her way over to the mirror in the room to brush out her hair, which was poking out in various areas. She kept it down, like she had been for weeks now. It wasn't a good idea to put it up in a Fire Nation knot when she was trying to hide.

Tohp flicked Aang in the head. "Shut up. I might not be able to energy bend, but you said that you were taught how to do it. That means you didn't invent it dumb shit." She said, sighing, leaning against the wall. "You're all kinds of a dick. I've gone a night without meat and I already can't come up with any insults. If I die, then it's going to be your fault for killing your sifu." She stated, bending the ground up around him, binding him tightly. He could get out, but she just wanted this to be more interesting.
The door opened and Toph turned, hearing the sound of wings. Smellerbee confirmed it by saying that Momo was back. He landed on her shoulder and he could see him. Raising her hand, she rubbed the top of his head and took the note that he handed her. Moving her hand the rocks that were holding Aang released. "Here." She handed over the note because was the only one right in front of her that could read.
Jet shrugged. "I wasn't really listening to you. I'm tired. I was at the festival all night." Why hadn't he woken them up? They together last year. "I didn't really think to wake you up. Neither one of us could sleep so we left. She wanted to see what the Earth Kingdom was like and I showed her. The festival wasn't like the last one we were in. This was more subtle, but we got there late so we missed a lot of the cool stuff." He stated simply to Smellerbee. Had he really ditched his friends to hang out with a girl he barely knew?

Aang took the note from her and Momo jumped onto his shoulder. He reached into his pocket and handed him a handful of lychee nuts. He flipped open the note and skimmed it before he looked back at them. "He thanks us for the information and that aside from the recent attack and the newly updated security, things have gone back to normal. There hasn't been anything strange going on, almost as if the entire thing hadn't happened at all. He says we should stay here for another week and make sure things are alright before we can leave again."
Smellerbee smiled, "Oh well, we can go next year." To be honest, she wasn't really angry about not going. Actually, it may have been good that they went alone. They had a better chance of settling things that way. "And you're going to make up for it," she joked, "I want all the shaved ice I can eat and endless dumplings." Smirking at him, she followed the lemur down the hall and back to the dining room area which was connected to the kitchen.

Toph scratched Momo's head, smiling at him even though he was on Aang's shoulder. Though the male was taller than she was, it just irritated her because she had to lean upward. "That's good. It means that they haven't broken out Azula." She stated, glad that there was good news, which was always better than bad news, right, or no news.
Jet laughed. "All the shaved ice and dumplings?" He questioned, knowing she could eat a lot when she wanted to, especially if it was on his dime. "Well I suppose I could agree with that as long as I got something out of it." He mused, thinking it over. There was nothing he wanted from her, but there might be something he could get. "If the freedom fighters are stable in a year and I resume being leader, then sure. I'll get all the freedom fighters anything they want. All on me." He stated, watching her walk out of the room.
The vigilante leader watched the Avatar. "Does that mean you're going to stick around with us for a bit?" He asked, unsure if that meant he and Toph would follow them, or if they'd go on their own way for a while.
Toph looked up. "I want to hear more about the organization Suyin belonged to. We'll stick around. I need someone to tell me if Aang is trying to feed me meat for the next week."

Aang nodded. "Yeah, we'll stick around a while longer," he said, looking over. "You guys can head out whenever you want, you don't have to stay around if you don't want to." He smirked at Toph when she reached up to pet Momo. He handed Toph a handful of the lychee nuts he had in his pocket and Momo automatically left him for Toph. Rereading the note again, he sighed, "Yeah, I agree. It's just kind of strange that nothing has happened. I think it actually makes things a little worse," he said, folding the paper and tucking it into his pocket in case he needed it later. "They aren't very straightforward, that's for sure."
Smellerbee smirked, holding up a thumbs up. "Great, you'd better be rich by then because there's a lot of us," she said, picking up a piece of bread off the table and spreading some fruit jelly on top of it. "What would you want out of it? I bet I could get you a nice girlfriend. How about a Kyoshi Warrior? I bet a few of them are still single," she joked, starting to eat her jellied bread. She made a face, "We need to work on your toasting skills, Longshot."

Toph took the lychee nuts and handed one of them to Momo. He instantly took them and started to munch away at it, perched on her shoulder. "While we're here we should work on your earth bending." She added, her head tilted towards Momo. "I think that this place would be a good place for you to work on earth, water and air considering how windy it is on the shore, the tides, and the earth. Maybe I can teach you sand bending." She shrugged. Whereas Aang struggled with Earth bending, Toph just continued to invent new styles with anything that she was able to bend, even if it was a former weakness.
Jet rubbed the top of Smellerbee's head, messing up her hair. "Well I still have money from Sokka." He grinned, leaning back against the wall. "We made enough money gambling and I deserved something extra for what Sokka did." He stated simply. He stole Sokka's share. "Sokka is dating one of those Kyoshi woman... I'd rather not delve into a group of woman with that poor judgement." He stated simply, shrugging his shoulders. "But that's just my personal preference." Jet grabbed some toast and put some butter and fruit preserves on it. "I bet Longshot could get the burnt toast halfway into the ocean?" Jet mused.
Longshot grinned, nodding at the comment. He was sure that he could get it that far. If the wind was good, he most likely could have get it further.

Aang nodded. "I would rather work on fire than air though, I already mastered air a long time ago. I could pretty much do it asleep," he said, reaching for his cup which was sitting on the table. It was half full with some sort of fruit juice. He finished off the rest and tossed the cup back on the table, manipulating the air around it so that it landed perfectly. "Alright, well, we'll be ready for whatever happens. This can't be worse than the war. We probably won't even have to involve Katara or Sokka," he said. He didn't really want to have to work with Katara at this moment, and Sokka had just gotten married so he probably busy and would continue to stay that way.
Smellerbee tossed him the burnt piece of toast. "Go for it. I'll clean your arrows for a week if you can make it further than that," she said, smirking. Reaching for a less burnt piece, she covered it jelly and started eating it, satisfied now that it wasn't burnt. She grabbed Jet's wrist as he messed with her hair, making a sound. "Hey, I'm not a kid anymore," she answered, disgruntled. "We had a deal that that was off limits when I turned 13."

"I was making the point that you could work on whichever one you wanted twinkle toes. But it doesn't really mean much because I can't teach you fire bending, I can test your earth as your sifu, and I suppose i can just treat you as I treat sweetness when it comes to water bending." She shrugged her shoulders and leaned against the wall, rubbing the top of Momo's head as he reached and took another lechee nut, eating it quicker than the first. It was a long flight and he wanted attention and food. "I don't anything of valued consequence will happen in here, but you have a point."
Jet shrugged. "We also made a deal that you wouldn't break into caves and attack sleeping animals too, but that didn't stop you, now did it? You're the reason I kept having to change freedom fighter laws because you could fuck up the most basic rules. Remember 'no bringing torches into the treehouse?' You managed to burn down the tree by putting it out and leaving it on the ground." He stated, picking up his sword and scrapping the burnt crust off the toast before putting strawberry jam on it then taking a bite, thinking of others things she did. "Then there was when I let you tell the kids a story and they were too scared to sleep and kept me awake all night."

Aang looked around the room. "We have a firebender here," he answered, spotting Suyin as she came down the hallway. "Earth and Fire are the only actual elements I need more help with. You'd help me with fire, wouldn't you?" he questioned.
Suyin stopped walking and looked at him, slightly surprised. "I-I guess," she replied, nervously, "I mean, I haven't mastered it yet and I'm still learning too. I've never taught anyone before..."
Aang smiled. "I could use all the help I can get. And I bet you'd make a great teacher. Just do what you do normally but break it down for me. I've pretty much mastered fire before, so I really just need pointers. You won't have to teach me any basic things."
Suyin nodded. "I'll help. It's the least I can do to pay off for what you guys have done for me," she replied.
Smellerbee shrugged, "We also agreed to never talk about those things. And besides, it wasn't my fault. Who knew they'd get scared? I used to listen to those kinds of stories all the time when I was young and I was never afraid to go to sleep. But that night really helped build your patience, so I guess you should thank me," she gloated. "Either way, you've done your share of stupid things too, so I wouldn't patronize others if I were you."

Toph remembered that Suyin was there as she moved toward them. "Oh yeah..." Normally she was used to Zuko being his fire bending teacher. If someone else tried to teach him earth bending, it would annoy her, and more than just a little bit. He was her pupil, therefore no one else could even come close to her teaching ability. And if they did,it would destroy her pride... and that was the one thing that was sacred to her. She'd never let it be damaged. "I guess we could test your firebending while using your earth bending sense." She stated, thinking it over. "I think blindfolding you will make you remember what feeling through the earth is like, assuming your ass doesn't get burned in the process."
Jet remembered the deal they made and he nodded. "Fine, fine. Deal. I won't mention it again." He said, leaning on her head, his arm on her messy hair. "I promise not to patronize you anymore okay?" He looked over his shoulder at Longshot before bending down beside Smellerbee. "Do you want to try to make some toast that isn't burnt?"

Aang leaned back in his chair. At least now he had people to train with. As mentioned, he'd already mastered all of the elements, at least to a certain extent. What he needed now wasn't exactly a teacher, just someone of the same element to train with to get back in the routine of using all of them. Fire was one of his least used elements. Then Earth, Water, and lastly, Air - which was something he used all the time. He looked over at Toph and nodded, "Yeah, that sounds good," he replied.
Smellerbee smirked. "Good, because next time you bring it up I'm going to punch you," she joked. She picked up another slice of toast and checked the underside. "Yeah...that's probably a good idea. Even Momo won't eat them, that's not a good sign." She got up and started toward the kitchen. "Good thing Longshot doesn't do the cooking regularly," she said, her voice fading as she entered the kitchen. She, herself, wasn't the best chef, but she managed. Back at the hide out, she was the hunter, the one who brought back the food to others who then prepared it. However, living alone with Longshot and Jet for the last four or five years had required her to hone in on her cooking abilities.

Toph sighed. "I'm not too worried about your use of fire, just your tendency to avoid using any other bending style but air. It showed at the wedding, you favored air and only used fire to redirect it. Looks like we need to put you through an ass kicking training camp!" She punched one fist into the palm of her other hand. "Do you want to go out and do some training now?"
"Punch me?" He asked, surprised by that. "Just punch me?" He asked, walking into the kitchen after her. Longshot followed, rolling his eyes. "What do you mean just punch me? The last time I even touched your stuff you threatened to tie me up to a tree by my ankles and cut me open with my own swords." Oh the harmonious relationship they had. "I won't bring it up again though, for fear of ensuing the wrath of Bee." He said, walking out of the kitchen, knowing that he'd only distract her from her food preparation.
Longshot leaned against the counter when Jet left, smiling, but shaking his head. "He's in a much better mood this morning." He stated. His voice wasn't naturally loud, but he wasn't whispering. "What do you think caused it? I haven't seen this Jet in years... since... well... we were home."

Aang shrugged. "It's because I'm most comfortable with air. I mean, all of the elements feel like they're a part of me, but air is the greatest and it's the easiest thing for me to do. It's not like I never use the others, I just don't use them as much. But I do think that I need to work on them, so that when I do need to use them, I can do so confidently," he answered. "It's been awhile since I've used Earth and Fire excessively. I guess I let myself relax too much after the war ended," he said.
Smellerbee looked over at him, a playful smirk on her lips. "Why would I tell you what I'm actually going to do?" she asked. She started making more toast, making sure it didn't burn. "That's a good idea," she replied, laughing as she watched him leave the kitchen. Her eyes moved to look at Longshot when he spoke. She smiled and looked back down at the bread as she sliced it. "Didn't you hear? He went to the Shui Khan festival last night. He's always happy after he goes, at least for awhile. He took Suyin with him this time," she said, glancing up. "I think he enjoyed showing her around just as much as she liked seeing it. I'm glad to see he's feeling better. I mean, he's needs a chance to move on too."
