Toph continued to make the earth shake in an attempt to push them back until Aang grabbed her arm. Stumbling backwards, she turned. "Right..." She kicked the ground with her heel before running off with them. The shaking slowed until it stopped, giving them the chance to run, but the hole making it hard for the fire benders to follow them.
One of the fire benders was able to make it toward the crater, and before he could jump over it, a single arrow flew down, striking the ground, blocking his path. Now, he looked up, scanning the area, in an attempt to see where it came from. Long shot slid down the tree and caught up with them out of sight as they fled, using the trees for cover. Once he found Smellerbee, he ran at her side, Jet a few steps behind them as the group darted into the woods, now out of sight, effectively blocked by the trees.
Jet seperated from the ground, just long enough to get back to the hotel, (through a window) and grabbed what he knew they would need. Not that they had much stuff there anyway. But he grabbed some of the left over food, the bags they'd bought, and whatever else he knew they needed. He snuck out of the hotel and made sure no one was following him before he ran off in the direction of everyone else. Longshot and Smellerbee had left him marks to follow that no one else would notice. He caught up to them where they were resting and tossed some of what he was carrying to Longshot.
"No one's following us." He added, leaning against a tree. "I checked."

Aang looked up. "Well...Good," he answered. "I assumed as much. It seemed like they were here to intimidate and let us know they were looking for us rather than to kill us at this moment, or kill her. They're planning something bigger, I don't think this is at the top of their priorities. We need to get out of here before they show up again. The next time, I don't think we'll get out of it too easily."
Once they were away from the other firebenders, Suyin thought she'd finally be able to relax. However, a fit of anxiety took over her body. She gripped her aching shoulder, her breaths coming out shallow, as if she couldn't get enough air. Her knees shook and she let her body fall back against a tree for support. "I-I have to leave," she muttered to herself, her eyes wide, before she looked at the others. "I have to go. By myself," she said, much louder this time. "Aang, Toph...You both have to be in the Fire Nation in case Azula does escape any time soon. If she gets out and you aren't there...I can take it from here," she continued. "I can take care of myself." It sounded more like she was trying to convince herself that, not them.

Jet stepped forward, standing beside Suyin. "She's half right..." He said after his breathing slowed to a normal pace. "The world is at risk if she becomes firelord. If the two of you return to the fire nation you'll be able to watch Azula and find out more information. What Suyin has told you should suffice for now." Looking toward Smellerbee and Longshot, a determined look crossed his face and he rested a hand on Suyin's shoulder delicately. "I'll watch her from here, and make sure that they won't get close to her. It's unlikely that they would go as far as the Freedom fighters to find her. That and I'm not that well known in the fire nation, and the hide out was never discovered, even after I left, I made sure they were safe." He stated carefully, showing that they really had no other alternative. "Suyin can't survive in a land this different from her own. Someone will make her out to be a fire bender. If you return to the fire nation, we can send word in about a week or two when we arrive at the Freedom Fighter base. That should give them enough time to make whatever move they plan, or at the very least to mobilize."
Toph thought over what was said and their current options. "I think that's a good idea..." she muttered. "There isn't much else we can do, if they're here then the best thing we can do is alert Zuko and make sure that the leaders in the Earth kingdom are to be cautious of any fire nation nobles, or anyone wearing one of the masks they're wearing." Toph wasn't able to see the masks, but she could hear how their voices were muffled. At least for all of them except the leaders. "Then Zuko can make sure Azula is secured and we can move her in a last minute way which is never discussed with anyone except us. Between Zuko, Aang and I we should be able to move her without incident, especially if we do it underground."

Suyin looked up at Jet as he made his way over, her body calming down slightly now that there was someone else there, someone else speaking to let her know they were going to be okay right now. "Jet, you need to.." she paused, listening to him talk further. When he mentioned bringing her back to the Freedom Fighter base, her eyes widened. "I can't do that!" she called, looking up at him. She admired the Freedom Fighters and she admired how he had set up the group. However, she did know that the group was based up of orphans whose families or homes were destroyed by the Fire Nation. "You can't bring a fire bender back to your base. I can figure this out on my own. It would be better for me anyway. I can't always depend on people."
Aang looked at him. "That's a good idea," he answered before he looked at Suyin. "It'll be fine. You're safer there than you are in the middle of any town here. Trust me, I've been to the Freedom Fighter base before and it's highly secure. It's also very hidden. I'm not saying the won't ever find you, but they won't find you any time soon." He smiled. "Besides, I know some of them are really nice. You'll be alright." He looked at Toph. "That's a good idea also. Though I'm not sure where else we could store Azula besides the most secure jail there is, which is where she is now. Maybe we could just increase the security?"
Suyin sighed, "but..."

Jet brushed off what Suyin told him as if it didn't matter in the slightest. "I can do whatever I want. I'm the leader and founder of the Freedom Fighters and the only way to help form a kind of counter attack or resistance is to keep you alive. We need you alive, you know information about them, and even if you don't know everything, it's better than were we stand now. Sending messages back and forth is too risky, so we should find a way to plan against them and then when we come together we can share plans." He stated, looking down at the shorter female at his side. "Trust me, you're safer with us then out on your own. You can't always depend on other people, that's true. But you shouldn't have to deal with this alone, especially not when they're out for your life. They don't move alone."
Toph nodded in agreement. "Right." She stated honestly. "You're safe with Jet until we can come back. And we need to keep you alive. As long as we have you alive we have the upper hand, but we don't know how much of an advantage that is. You're safest here in the Earth Kingdom, and there's no one who will butcher firebenders better than Jet." She said with a laugh, and then sighed. "I dunno Aang. Maybe we could put some barriers in the way. I could metal bend some extra security and then you could do something like in the air and fire temples so that two elements are required to open the door. That means they either need two benders, or only you can open the door."

Suyin sighed and nodded, knowing they were right. It didn't make her any less fearless though. Being a fire bender and finding yourself in a group of people who hated fire benders would terrify anyone. "You guys have a point...I guess that means I'm following you guys," she said, almost as awkwardly as she felt. "I need to grab a few of my things from the hotel before we leave though.." she said, looking toward the tall building.
Aang nodded. "We'll reinforce the building some more. I don't think that adding airbending required doors would do much since we managed to get around those the last time. So did Teo's father. We'll just have you build some extra metal around it. We'll also investigate the crew that is responsible for taking care of her to make sure that none of them are spies. We'll make sure she doesn't escape. If we could beat the Firelord and save the world from the war, we can do this too." He was confident about it. This was a group of people, nothing like the armies that Ozai had when he was still in power. Also, Zuko was the Firelord now. Once they figured out where the hide out of these people was, they could bring in officers along with the gang to clear them out.

Jet offered her the bag he'd used to pack things up from the hotel. "Here. This is stuff grabbed from our room." He stated with a shrug. "I left Toph's and Aang's stuff because I figured they would go back and head back to the fire nation by that port." He leaned against the tree and looked over at Smellerbee and Longshot.
Glancing at Suyin and Jet, Longhsot wondered why he wanted to protect her. Or why he was willing to bring a firebender to the Freedom Fighter hide out. It violated everything he believed in. Why would he do that? Then again, it wasn't that a bad thing. Jet needed to expand his horizons and trust more people. The fact that he was willing to do this was a step in the right direction, especially after what happened last time. Sighing, he glance at Smellerbee and smiled weakly. Jet was making progress.
Toph felt a little better about this, but he had a point. That and how the hell would she even make a door like that? Maybe it was best if they just reinforced it. "Alright. Come on Twinkle Toes. They could still make a good distance today, and we have to get back. Hopefully, we can distract them for a little while while we check out and prepare to return, but I think we should leave for the Fire Nation in another village. Just as a means of gauging if they're following us, because they did fool me once before."

Suyin smiled, taking the bag. "Thanks," she whispered, pulling the strap over her shoulder. She went to rub her wrist, something she did whenever she was nervous, but remembered that her bracelet was gone. She glanced back at the hotel and bit her lip. "Okay, we should leave then. You lead, I don't know where the heck I'm going," she said, walking behind him.
Smellerbee smiled. "It's not that bad. I'm not saying they'll love you, but all of the fighters believe in Jet and trust his decisions. If he wants you there, they won't bother you and they won't do anything to harm you. Plus you'll be safe with us. They won't be able to locate you there."
Aang nodded. "Yeah, good idea. Alright, so we'll travel north. There's another port not to far up that most likely, will be departing for the Fire Nation at some point. If not, we can catch a boat to another place and switch to another one that heads there." He started to walk back to the hotel. "Let's grab our stuff and head out. It's going to be dark soon so we'll have the protection of the night for our trip." Holding his staff over his shoulder, he wandered back to the hotel.

Jet looked over his shoulder at the horizon, squinting, as if that would tell him which direction would be the easiest. He decided on which path they were going to take, and it wasn't going to be easy. He didn't want them to be tracked, so he was willing to have the trip to last a little longer than necessary. An additional day wouldn't hurt them much, and he wanted to protect his freedom fighters.
"Alright. We're going to go this way." He said, gesturing Southeast. "Let's head this way. We won't travel for long, we're going to need some place to stop tonight when it's hard for a few hours to rest. But we can at least get about 2 hours of travel." He turned to Aang and Toph. He smiled at them. "Thanks for your help. I'll send you a message when we're settled. The freedom fighters have moved since we met, so when we're resettled to a new location, we'll find a way to make contact and meet up, if that idea is wise. Once Appa is back, that'll just make things easier. Until then, see ya." he waved, walking off.
Toph started to walk with Aang toward the hotel to get their stuff before they moved on. Something about all of this didn't sit well with her. They might be able to get their stuff and leave without incident, and it was likely, but she just wasn't sure if she'd be able to sense them. They had beasted her senses once before, and she didn't want that sort of thing to happen again. She needed to train to see through living trees, as long as they were attached to the ground. There had to be some way she could sense someone that was hiding above the ground... She had to find a way to be sure these guys weren't stalking her and Aang.
"Hey Twinkle Toes, do we have a plan if these guys try o fight or ambush us?"
