Toph walked over to him. "Yeah, you're more comfortable with air. I'm more comfortable with earth too, but I'm not the avatar, am I?" She asked, crossing her arms. "But assuming you don't die before the organization Suyin was a part of does something drastic, we should be fine." A smile appeared on her lips. "Come on. Suyin!" she called, starting to walk toward the door, feeling the two of them start to follow her.
Longshot nodded. "I know he went to the festival, but even for going he seems in a better mood." He walked over to her and picked up a piece of bread that she'd just sliced. "Either way, I'm glad he's found something that makes him trust other people." He wondered if Suyin would come back to the freedom fighter hide out with them; but he doubted that Jet would let it go that far. He was the type of man that whether he wanted something or not, he'd refuse it, if only for appearance or for the benefit of others. The freedom fighters had not seen him in years, and for him to return with a fire bender... that might destroy their faith in him as a leader, in addition to what he'd already done. "Let's just hope that this is the start of him healing, not reopening his wounds." He stated, resting a hand on her shoulder and smiling to show that eh did think it was a good thing that he'd found someone else to trust.

Aang rolled his eyes. "I'm not going to die," he stated, getting off the chair and following her. He picked up his staff, even though he knew his training wouldn't involve it. He liked having it around just in case. Picking up his shoes on the way out, he followed her out of the building.
Suyin looked over as they started to leave, shoving the last bit of the bread and jam she was eating into her mouth. She could just finish eating when they got back. "Coming," she answered back, sliding out of her chair and making her way to the door in a hurry, grabbing her shoes and putting them on. She left through the door after them.
Smellerbee nodded. "Yeah, me too," she answered, using a skillet to toast the slices of bread. After they were done, she layered a few on a plate and continued to toast the others. "I think it'll be good for him. Hopefully she is what she's playing herself off to be. If she's actually some sort of traitor and Jet falls for it, then well, I'm going to have to kill someone," she said. As of now, she was alright with Suyin, actually, she liked her. However, if the girl turned out to have some sort of dark intentions or planned on using Jet in any shape or form, then Smellerbee would waste no time showing her the wrath of her daggers.

Once they came to a part of the city that had less people and a wide clearing, a mountain to one side and a small canon on the other, it was clear that no one was going to bother them unless either Toph or Aang created a new mountain. The blind bender walked over to her student and pulled off the belt that was around his clothes and pursed her lips in thought before tripping him so he was kneeling in front of her before tying the cloth over his eyes. He was too tall for her to tie it around his head with ease, so she needed to level the playing field. Though, instead of just making herself taller, she decided to make him kneel to her.
Longshot shook his head. "I don't think that she's planing something like that, but if she was, she's doing a damn good job." He said sincerely. Jet was never one to lower his guard, abut this woman seemed to have no problem making him do things. He took her to a festival and leave his friends that had been at his side for years probably with minimal effort. Or he wanted to go and she went along... It was hard to say what happened, considering neither one of them were there. In either case, Longshot would make a use of his arrows by putting as many of them as he could into her vital organs, making sure she felt each one before death.

Aang glared up as he was tripped. He let her tie the blindfold around his head, sighing. "You could have just asked for me to bend down," he muttered, but dropped it, stepping back. "Okay, first Earth, then we can work on fire." He moved back slowly, making sure he felt the ground the way Toph taught him so he wouldn't trip on something and fall over. "I'm ready when you are," he called back, facing her.
Smellerbee nodded. "I don't think so either, but just in case," she said. She brought the bread back to the table and looked around. "Don't tell me I just made toast so everyone could leave..." She groaned and set the stuff down on the table. "I guess it's just us and Momo then,' she said, tossing a piece of bread at the lemur, who quickly grabbed it and started to gobble.

"Asking you to bend down takes all the fun out of forcing you." She stated, shrugging her shoulders after she finished tying it around the back of his bald head. Stepping away from him, she changed her body's stance into one that would allow her to bend most effectively: her hands up in front of her, fingers held together, all of them facing upwards. She shifted, a wave going out to feel that he was in a similar stance to hers. He was ready. A smile appeared on her face. "Let's hope so." Toph stretched one leg out in front of her bending the other, one arm toward the ground, causing the ground to shake and a boulder to fly outward at him violently. He had two choices, break it, or be crushed by it.
Longshot shrugged his shoulders. "Don't take it personally." He kissed her forehead and grabbed another piece. Though she still seemed irritated, he smiled. "Do you want to go look around the village? Maybe we can find a map and find a route back home that has the least time with most villages available for supplies."

Aang nodded and focused on trying to see the Earth without actually seeing it. When she shot the boulder at him, he almost hesitated for a moment, not sure exactly where it was, but he hit the boulder directly in the center point and it cracked in half, falling to the ground. He shook his hand, a line of pain shooting up his arm. It wasn't terrible, but it told him that he needed to focus on his distributing his energy a little better to avoid hurting himself. He let out a steady breath and kicked the ground, causing one half of the boulder to fly up. He hit it with his elbow, shooting it toward her.
Smellerbee stood up and nodded. "Good idea." She looked over at Jet and smiled. "You should come too, since we didn't get to hang out with you last night," she said, finishing her toast. She moved to crack her back, dusting the crumbs off her hands afterward. "By the way, when do you guys want to actually leave?" she asked. "I don't think we need to stay much longer now that Toph and Aang are staying longer than expected." She made her way to the door, slipping on her shoes.

Toph smirked, hearing the soynd of his hand cracking. he wasn't seriously injured, but it was still enough for her to doubt his ability to do this as well as he could when he faced the fire lord. Didn't mastering something mean you never forgot it? "Come on Twinkle toes!" She yelled, raising a rock wall that protected her from the boulder he threw at her. It shattered the wall she created, sending pieces of rock everywhere. Moving her body, the bits of rock stopped before hitting her, hovering in the air around her. Jerking her hand forward toward him, all of the small, sharp pieces flew forward Aang in a size that would be harder for him to sense.
Jet looked over at Smellerbee and shrugged. "I'll come." He stated, getting up and putting his shoes on. After that, he walked over to the door behind her. "I think we should leave in the morning just before the sun rises. It will give us all day. There's no point in leaving this close to sun down." They had a few hours until then, but even so, they wouldn't get far and with night setting it, it was a waste of time. "We can get supplies, pack and be ready to leave." He said, feeling a smirk come to his lips. "Then we can start counting the days until we get home."

Aang hit the ground, pulling up a wall that shielded him from the pieces of flying rock. This wasn't hard, it just took him time to focus. After all, he'd already learned this once. He kicked the wall with his foot, sending it forward and toward her. It took a decent amount of focus to put just enough strength into it so that it flew forward but didn't shatter. He wasn't as bad with this as he though he would be. Actually now that he was doing it, it actually felt familiar and easy.
Smellerbee nodded. "That sounds good," she said, smiling. "We should have things ready by then." She pushed open the door and stepped out into the hallway with them. "While we shop for a map, we can get things for the road, like you said. That means we need to rest early tonight, so no going out again tonight, Jet. Or even staying up for that matter. We need to conserve energy if we're going to be traveling for a few days," she said, knowing how Jet liked staying up a lot of the time. As they made their way down the stairs to the exit of the hotel, she squinted her eyes from the sun.

The rock wall flying toward her made Toph wonder what would be the best way to stop it; but her choice was going to have to be made fast. Deciding for an evasive rather than an offensive, the ground sucked her into a hole below it, causing the wall to fly passed were she had been and eventually hit two trees, severely damaging them before the dust cleared. Moving underground, Toph came up just below Aang, moving to punch him, but true to her former training, he sensed her and avoided the attack. A smile met her lips and she laughed. "I can't believe you're still this good! I'm proud of my twinkle toes!" She shifted her body to punch him again, rather than earth bend at him. There was little point in earth bending considering they were just dodging and throwing. They needed to be close for this fight to be remotely interesting.
Jet shrugged. "Even if I stay up I'll be fine to go in the morning. I want to go home. When we get there, I can rest." He stated, knowing that he was likely to be up some of the night. Oh well, he wanted to go home. That's all he wanted for years. They left the hotel and Jet squinted from the light of the sun, letting out a sigh. Yet, at the same time, he was pleased for some reason. They were finally going home. Nothing compared to the feeling he felt right now.

Aang stopped her hand with his palm before it reached his face. "Just make sure you keep the earth bending going, that's what I'm trying to practice." He smirked and jumped back, lifting up another big rock and sending it at her. He moved backward, steading himself after pushing the rock in her direction. He was starting to get used to the rough texture of the rocks and the way it rubbed against his palms, which would most likely cause callouses in the future. He smiled. "I know, I told you I'm not that bad. I did learn it once so it's not that hard."
Smellerbee shrugged. "Whatever, but I'm not going to drag you half way when you get tired," she said. "You really should focus on getting some sleep. When you get back, you won't want to rest, you'll want to catch up on things that you've missed. I know it. So just sleep tonight." She wandered down the streets with them, glancing at various things in the market stands.

Toph grinned when he stopped her from punching him. "Apparently you didn't forget how to do everything." They weren't far apart when the rock came towards her, so all she could do was punch it. Her fist slammed into the center of the rock, breaking it so it fell on both sides of her. "Yeah, but you've been out of practice for so long I assumed that you'd be much worse than this." The broken boulders beside her jumped up, one flew forward toward Aang, the other fell down in front of her and changed shape. She jumped on top of it and moved it so she was moving toward him behind the boulder.
Jet rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah... I'll sleep tonight." He said, walking at her side, watching her look around. "When we return, I'm changing your nickname. From this point onward, you're going to be the Freedom fighter mom, okay? That's all you need to be good for recently." He teased as he walked a few feet behind her so she'd have to lunge to stab, so he'd be able to respond before he was bleeding. "With all the cooking, and cleaning you've been doing, it's not like you could do anything like fighting, or hunting or that other stuff you used to do when we were home." The smile on his lips was dripping from his tone and it almost sounded as if he was about to start laughing. "Isn't that what you want? To be Queen bee?" he managed to choke out before himself and Longshot started laughing.

Aang jumped from the rock, his shoulder catching it and scraping it. He had been distracted and hadn't heard her coming because they were talking. Thankfully, he'd gotten out of the way before the rock smashed him. He turned around quickly, steadying himself and getting ready in case she attacked them. He kicked up a boulder and punched it, smashing it to pieces, sending them in her direction. They wouldn't hurt her that much, if she didn't stop them which he knew probably wouldn't happen. They were mainly directed at distracting her.
Smellerbee punched him in the side, hard. "Shut up," she replied, smirking. "Someone has to take care of you guys, especially you, Jet, since you manage to get yourself in some sort of predicament every time we go anywhere. And you better believe I'm the queen." She moved to a stand that sold various trinkets. "Do you happen to have any maps?" she asked, politely. The man nodded and reached around until he pulled out a scroll.
"This one is a little older, but most of the area is the same. You shouldn't have a problem locating your destination."

Toph moved her head and tried to block what Aang threw at her, and succeeded: sort of... One of the small pieces hit her cheek, leaving a small cut that blood gathered in, but didn't fall. Her eyes narrowed as other small gravel sized rocks hit her shoulder and arms. Stopping herself from moving, she rose a wall to stop the remainder from hitting her. The rock wall darted out toward Aang and she punched the ground, making it shake and break open, a crater sized hole rapidly opening in the Avatar's direction.
Jet rubbed where she had punched him; though it didn't hurt that much. "You're the fucking queen, right?" He teased, walking over to the stand with her. When the man produced a map, Jet leaned over Smellerbee's head to look it over. His eyes wandered for a moment. "Here it is." He stated, putting his right index finger on the Forest of Jet, though on this map it had no name, and there were very few labels of places: only large or important bodies had names, like , Be Sing Se, and a river that flowed through about half of the Earth Kingdom. "We can take this." He stated, pointing out the city where they were and drawing a line to the Forest of Jet. "There's a mountain range here... we can either go around it or through it.." He muttered, mostly to himself, thinking over the best way to get them there in the least amount of time.

Aang smirked, keeping his posture the way it needed to be in order for him to sense the vibrations that echoed from the earth. When she hit the ground, it was easier to sense what was going on. Actually, any average person might have sensed it because the ground actually did vibrate after she hit it. However, it was harder to know where the attack was actually coming from since a good portion of the ground was shaking. His foot slipped into the crater and he quickly jumped backward, using the air to push himself back.
Smellerbee nodded. "Yeah," she answered. "We can take that route, it shouldn't be too hard to get back. It's probably better if we go around the mountain. It would take more time but it would be easier. I don't know, we can always wait until we get to that point to decide fully." She moved back, paying for the map. Because it was old, it was fairly cheap as well. "Alright, let's go get things for the road. We don't need a lot," she said, knowing they knew as well. For most of their lives, they'd lived in a forest so they could survive on the bare minimum without complications.

As soon as Toph felt him stumbled into the crater, it closed, to which she gritted her teeth because now she couldn't see him at all. Of course he'd airbend to save his own ass. Resuming a stance that she only used when looking for someone, she paused and waiting, thinking about where he would land. Until she heard movement in the air and tossed a large rock in that direction, hoping to hit him by catching him off guard. At the very least, she wanted to come back to the ground.
Jet picked up the map when she took it and started to look over it. "There's a pass through this mountain we might be able to get through." He mused, but he was mostly talking to himself. The risk of going over the mountain was too great and the thought of risking Smellerbee and Longshot's lives (again) didn't sit well with him. It would only increase their travel by about a day, two at most. Traveling longer was worth surviving. "Alright, we'll go around, but we need to stop by the village in front of the mountain in order to get some supplies. The only village before that is about three days, and the one after that would be about the same. We don't need all that much, but it's still good to have some things." He added, walking with them, occasionally looking down at the map, thinking his way through their journey back home.
